let's say he starts at 140 and then goes up to 147. How does he do? Who would be his biggest threat?

Lopez is the only one at 140 who has a chance, the runs through the rest like Andy Ruiz at an all you can eat buffet, total devastation. But even Lopez probably loses, we saw how late on Loma was able to pressure him, Hatton would not make the mistake Loma did and leave it too late.

147 was never a good weight for Hatton. He has a physical mauling style which simply isn't as effective against bigger men. Spence beats him. Crawford knocks him out, Ennis as untested as he is could beat him too.

Ricky was the real deal at 140.

I reckon he beats them all today.

Even Loma and Tank who might well be able to time him, he's going to bully the **** out of them.

Shakur is probably the guy with the best chance of beating him.

Hatton was overrated but this era at 140 is pretty weak. I'd still take Ramirez, Matias, and Lopez over him.

Doubtful. Lopez probably clean KO's him, Matias breaks him down to a mid-to-late stoppage, and Ramirez wins a comfortable decision or late stoppage.

I would take Hatton over Haney and Cattrell.

I never thought much of Hatton and I certainly wouldn't pick him to beat Matias and Teo I think both knock him out I can also see Haney and Caterall outbox him but not as confidence in those picks. I even think Ryan might spark him with a left hook.

    Hatton was very overrated.

Love how this Matias fella is the new flavour of the month in boxing circles.. dismissing fighters like Hatton in relation to this kid is actually laughable.. hes 32 , hasn't fought one person of note, has to date won one vacant title , has already lost to a no name (who couldn't even beat Steve Claggett) yet he's 'killing' fighters like Hatton , highly doubt it.. i dont dislike the kid but pump the brakes.. beating Hatton based on what? Beating Prescott & Ponce? Come on now..

If Lopez couldn't handle Kambosos being in his face then he'd be a lamb to the slaughter against Hatton.

Kostya Tszyu, admittedly a little bit past his best couldn't get Hatton out of there and was ultimately beaten up. Tszyu would KO Lopez quicker than he did Zab Judah. Hatton would destroy Lopez too, but he'd do it over a longer period.

Hatton would run the card in this era. And he'd do it easily.

A lot of recency bias going on in here I see. Hatton would wipe the floor with Matias, Garcia, Prograis and Ramirez.

The guys that would be all wrong for him stylistically are your Shakur's, Tanks, Teo's and Cruz's.

Did people see Matias's fight with Ponce or remember it? No way Matias survives that first round if it's Hatton.

Still see people are vastly overrating the 140 division right now. Ramirez is basic, fast and yes has power but his skills are basic. Matias, please the same Matias who got dropped and beat by Ananyan? 140 right now is a wasteland with the exception of Lopez who himself has big holes in his game.

What has Matias done to be so highly regarded, he doesn't impress me at all. I get he's exciting to watch with his come forward all action, high volume style but technically he's pretty crude. His footwork is plain ugly, plods along, falls forward after shots, his defence is rudimentary. Hatton has much faster hands and feet, better movement and positioning, doesn't just stand right in front of guys but creates angles and has far better technique and would push him back and rough him up with his mauling style and Matias doesn't seem like a fighter who can fight on the back foot. Honestly wouldn't be competitive at all. Prime Hatton stops him inside 8 rounds and leaves him bloodied and battered.

Yep if Taylor can be undisputed at 140 then Hatton would do the same only he wouldn't struggle with Ramirez and Pograis. Hell, Junior Witter would probably be a unified champion in this era, Witter is better than Pograis, he actually has boxing skills and can counter punch and has decent movement unlike Pograis. Hatton's era wasn't exactly deep but it makes this era look like garbage. Malignaggi probably beats Pograis, that's how bad this era is.

Ricky still doesn't really get the credit he deserves still.. he was rampaging through that 140 division back in the day.. far more impressive than the likes of Matias.. Matias hasn't even fought anyone like Ray Olivera (beat the likes of Vivian Harris, Vince Phillips) yet let alone a Tszyu, JLC or Malignaggi.. and even then he's already lost.. this thread is a prime example of over rating somebody. Hatton is one of the best LWWs of the 21st century & people just dismiss him over some fighter who hasn't even really done anything & who is already getting on in years..
