How would Ray Mercer do in today's HW division?

Actually Mercer was a WBO champion. I thought he beat Lennox Lewis, sure gave him one Hell of a fight.............

A "prime" Sam Peter vs. Ray Mercer would be a fun scrap. I think Mercer would take it but this would be a nice slugfest while it lasts.

Prime Mercer would be the unified HW champion if Vitali wans't around. He may give up a loss to Vitali but he blows Wlad away.

Lewis had to dig deep, fight in the trenches and work in high volume to scrape out a decision against Mercer. Wlad can do none of those things.

Mercer eat Morrison's left hook flush , kept coming and knocked him out. Would would be gone by 8-9 rounds.

 

Wlad would school Mercer.... ANY version of Wlad beats him. Lets not forget that glass jawed Tommy Morrison was beating the hell out of Mercer, and Wlad is WAY better than Morrison. I don't see how Mercer beats Wlad, prime Mercer might make it to the cards against Wlad, but would receive a hell of a beating.

 

Mercer was better and more relentless than Brewster and Brewster blasted Wlad out in 5.

 

If Wlad paced himself he would have no problem beating a prime Mercer... the only way he loses that fight is if he punches himself out.

 

If he paced himself against Mercer he would go out even faster.
