Trilogies exclusively for all of them: Ray fights: Emile Griffith Nino Benvenuti Jose Nápoles Rodrigo Valdez HM: Bennie Briscoe Carlos Fights: Jake Lamotta Randy Turpin Bobo Olson Gene Fullmer HM: Carmen Basilio Do both go undefeated or not? How much would they struggle?
There’s a strong possibility that both go undefeated if they are at their best for all of those fights. Would it actually play out that way? Never know in this sport.
Robinson beats em all, although Valdez and Benvenuti has a chance of cracking him, Griffith might cause him the most trouble with Valdez, because of his roughhousing. If we're talking about prime Turpin,he might spoil Monzon for a bit before the size disadvantage was too big, Fullmer might be able to bully Monzon for some time too,i'd even give him a pass at rocking him at some point.
Hi Guys. For me they both go undefeated, reason being both are top 1/3 in the MWs ranking, the opponents are not, as for robert thinking that maybe Napoles would post a win over Robinson, not so sure a blown-up, cut prone, WW, would have the beating of Ray at 160. stay safe guys, chat soon. Mike.
SRR: Robinson wins a highly competitive decision over Griffith, scores a knock down maybe. Goes 2-1 in a trilogy. Robinson stops Benvenuti in the mid to late rounds of a shootout. too fast and his combinations too good. 3-0 Robinson wins a chess match against Napoles. Might manage a late stoppage. 3-0 Robinson wins a clear but competitive decision over Valdez. 3-0 Robinson beats Briscoe by UD in an at times competitive fight. 3-0 Monzon: Beats LaMotta by UD. 3-0 Beats Turpin by UD or possible late stoppage. 3-0 Stops BoBo late. Decently competitive fight. 3-0 Beats Fullmer in a very competitive fight, looks similar to his fights with Briscoe and Valdez. 3-0 or maybe 2-1 Beats Basilio by UD. 3-0
I could see either 1 running the table against his assigned group, but I'd more confidently back SRR since Nino, Griffith, & Napoles were all past their peaks to varying degrees when Monzon fought them, whereas all except maybe LaMotta out of the other group were squarely @ their peaks when SRR beat them.
Ray: He might drop a close one to Griffith, but ultimately win 2/3 He would most likely TKO Benvenuti late. Would most likely do the same to Napoles, given Mantequilla's propensity for getting cut. He would outbox Valdez and Briscoe for close decisions. Carlos: LaMotta would bring pressure and was as tough as anyone . So would Bobo Olson and Gene Fullmer. But none would be able to truly get to Monzon. Carlos takes a comfortable UD over all three. Given his speed, strength and awkward style, Randy Turpin could give Monzon problems. However, he wouldn't be able reach Carlos consistently enough, and Monzon wins narrowly. Basilio was a great boxer puncher, but but big or strong enough to to mount a serious challenge. Monzon takes this by decision or possibly late TKO.
