... Have done against Lennox Lewis?

I seem to remember that when he moved up to Heavyweight there was talks of this fight being arranged.

Obviously Lewis wins (in my opinion), but how good would RJJ have done?

Would he steal any rounds with his speed and reflexes?, would he even make it to the final bell?

He couldnt have done any worse than he did against Tarver, from a legacy perspective.

    Good point.

Actually I think it would have been more excusable losing in the same fashion to Lewis.

Yeah I think Lewis wins by KO.

But maybe if Roy was focused he would have made it to the later rounds though, and stealed a few.

Would have been a catch weight: 220. Lewis made the weight in 1992, so he could definitely do it for Roy

if lewis came in the same type of shape he was in vs klitschko, roy could have just run away from him all night and lennox would have passed out. the fact that this fight was even being considered shows that there wasn't really any competition out there for jones.

Lewis in ten years from now would have killed Jones, Jr. in his prime. Such an incredible mismatch.

He could absolutely have stolen some rounds. I don't know if people remember how lackadaisical Lewis could be when he wasn't worried about you and felt in control. He'd ultimately stop Roy one way or the other, but I do think Jones could've looked good for a bit and maybe felt like the inevitable wouldn't have happened until blammo.

    I agree with this.

I think Lewis would underestimate him a bit.

I would say Lewis by KO,I think at some point Lennox would have caught him with some clean shots and the size and weight would have been too much.Fighting a heavyweight like Ruiz is one thing but one of Lewis`s size and ability is another.Roy would probably win a few rounds but get stopped in the end.

I tend to think Lewis would go after him like he went after Grant to prove a point. If he does, there isn“t enough time for Jones to steal rounds.
