Jones would be an underdog but his speed and elusiveness would be more problematic for Lewis than people think. Lennox wanted no part of Chris Byrd at this time for the same reason,he would end up looking pretty foolish at points. However, I do think he would eventually get frustrated, grab Jones and club him out cold with a borderline legal punch.
No, he didn't fight Byrd because there was no money in it and he had a super fight against Tyson. Was it Ruiz or Byrd Don King paid Lewis not to fight, I forget? Anyway Lennox crushes Roy
I've been over this a thousand times and posted more than enough sources. Lewis turned down the Byrd fight before and after Tyson...even after being quoted that he would give Byrd a chance after the Holyfield/Byrd fight. LEWIS WANTED NO PART OF BYRD!!! ITS OVAAAAH!
Really hard to say. I don't think Lennox will be too worried, and even if he gets Rahman-level cocky and caught stupidly, I don't see it amounting to the same kind of outcome but one in a billion.
Nah, not even Vitali had enough pop to take advantage of Lewis' defensive lapses. Takes a big slugger to get his attention. What makes the fight interesting for me at least would be how much discomfort Roy Jones' speed and movement would cause. I think it would be more significant than people would think.
Agreed... it would have been a really interesting fight while it lasted. Plus I guess Lewis doesn't really have a slick speedster like Jones on his resume (that I can remember)
