It would have been an interesting and competitive fight for the first 8 rounds. Then Taylor would have started to fade and probably would have been knocked out in the twelfth round, maybe even while he was ahead. You know, like all Jermain Taylor fights...

Hmmm i would like to say that he does really well... but considering how much trouble an awkward Cory Spinks gave him, i don't see good things for Taylor against Ward

The only guys ever to be JT are Pavlik, AA, and Froch all heavy punchers and two of the three came off the mat to do it. I feel ya' that JT's chin is gone, but I don't know that Ward has the kind of power any of those men do, furthermore JT at least has heart and wouldn't let Ward push him around and rough him up. Call me what you want but I think JT could win the fight and certainly would have found out what Ward was made of.

Taylor went 12 with the lead vs Froch

    He went 12 with Abraham

He can jab he can move he has power dropping Froch

Why not he is way better than Green

JT would provide an interesting test/look for Ward the Green fight doesnt prove anything about hpw Ward has progressed as a fighter

I'd give taylor a real chance to win

Ward is overhyped, but Taylor was ridiculously overhyped. Ward would have beaten him easily.

Doesn't the phrase "went 12 with..." usually refers to a fighter making it full 12 rounds? You are taking two fights in which Taylor was unable to keep an early lead and was knocked out by opponents with lesser speed as an indication that he would beat a fighter with better speed than himself?

Before every Taylor fight, there are the believers bringing up the arguments why he will win. This happened before both bouts with Pavlik, even the rematch when people pointed to the knockdown and the few adjustments Taylor could make, before Froch, before AA. Ever noticed that he just can't deliver anymore? Taylor has tons of heart but is mentally weak in following a gameplan, doesn't hurt opponents enough and his handspeed would be second best against Ward, his one great asset.

Taylor would have lost just as lopsided as Green did. Taylor was never that good, and should have lost to Spinks and Winky. Wade is a bigger faster version of Winky and just flat out better then Spinks.

Its purely wishful thinking. Wade is in the driver seat in the Super-six and alot of people cant stand the idea of it. I think that all the people going on all know deep down that Wade will beat Froch and AA and will come out of the backside of the super-six seatting only behind floyd and Pac on the p4p lists depending on if the two ever fight he could be as high as two, and if they both retire he would be one.

Today's Taylor would have been smoked. With the right corner, Taylor who fought Pav #1 would have been a great fight.

Ward is not a hard puncher. Taylor maybe is pretty much done but he beat Bhop so i´d have much prefered to see him in with Ward instead of someone like Green. I said it from the beginning that it was stupid move to replace Taylor with Green.

He outworked an older Hopkins. He isnt going to outwork a younger Ward. Taylor would have been dominated last night.
