Why do the nostalgic fans here always feel offended? Louis would lose against either Klitschko, that doesn't make him any less great, he is an ATG because he managed to do something outstanding in his era, noone can and will take this from him.

As much as i am a fan of the old style boxers, i would have to say that Louis would prolly get knocked out. But to be fair, its a fantasy matchup and boxing styles techniques have advanced over the years, So maybe putting Klits in the 30s/40s era maybe there styles would be different and in turn bringing Joe upto the 90s/00s his boxing style may have been even better. who knows., maybe Joe in the 90;s might not have broken through as a boxer (makes you think dont it) .. and maybe the klits were gay back in the 30s/40s we really just dont know...

As mentioned in a previous post a fellow made above, Joes style would have to change from walking round the ring and plodding to advancing with serious intent. Not that he dont have intent, i just think the klits would pick him off too easy if he was plodding round the ring..

enough!!!! no more talk... silly thread.....:| hahaha

Compare how many smaller guys the Klitschkos have lost to with how many smaller guys they've beaten.

Or I could just say 'The Klitschkos beat fighters as big as Louis. Louis has lost to fighters barely bigger than the Klitschkos'

Louis' era was pretty bad too. Who were the other good fighters? Carnera? Schmelling? The Baers? Louis dominated a weak era

I bet at any given time if you took the 50 top heavyweights from Louis' era and matched them with the 50 best from Wlad's era the modern fighters would win by about 45-5

    Nostalgia warriors are the funniest.
Joe is always going to be greater due to his era and his achievements during that period.
But h2h he would not stand a chance.

He never even remotely faced anyone of the Klitschkos combination of skill/speed/athletic ability and pure power.

Watching the old footage and even taking into account its slower due to recording methods its pretty clear that Wlad is significantly faster too.
Joe wouldnt have a clue what hit him.

The thing about nostalgia warrios that cracks me up the most is not even that every single arguement you make about fighters almost a century ago being better is completely logically debunked.
Lets stretch the imagination REALLY wide here and throw every single logical thought out of the window.

Training methods, nutrition, technique advancements none of these things have advanced for the sake of your arguement.
Why in godsname do you still watch boxing if everything used to be so much better? is it only so you can watch and then say "man these guys suck it used to be so much better"

Either you people are just plain dumb or you enjoy being cynical basterds... take your pick.

Louis was in the same size range as Brewster and Sanders who both beat Wlad, Louis was much more skilled than either guy combined. He certainly could beat either brother, in this era he'd be fighting at 215-225 instead of 200ish. He would be the best opponent either brother has faced to date.

I said "range" keyword there. I also said in this era he would likely fight 20 pounds heavier, as you can see he's much fitter than Lamon, look at his legs, they were really strong, he easily could have gained more muscle through todays techniques and nutrition. Lamon looks like an MMA fighter, slightly pudgy and too bulky. Tit for tat argument that will never be solved anyways.
