I'll be the first to tell you that you can't judge a Bernard Hopkins fight off of 2 rounds. He looked a lot worse against Pascal early on.
But putting all your emotions aside, if the injury didn't occur, how would you predict the fight to go and did you opinion change after watching the fight

I think he would have arguably lost the first 4, then start winning the rounds big by finding ways to counter that southpaw jab. Either slip it and throw the right hand jumping in with body shots before roughing him up on the inside, or move laterally and jump in with left hooks to the body before turning him again and initiating even more combinations after changing the angle. Hopkins would walk him into traps and use his aggression against him. I'm not sure how pretty the fight would have been, but Bernard's legs looked to be alright and I think he could have started to win rounds comfortably. Chad was there to fight though.

Dawson wasn't soma face first slugger coming forward.. IMO the way he was approaching the fight it would have been a good one with dawson getting the nod. Dawson came to fight, was the bigger man, looked with better speed and was trying to box Hopkins and he was being effective with what I saw.

He was landing some good punches as well, I remember a part in the second where Hopkins was coming in and dawson landed a hard left when hopkins was about to hug... Hopkins immediately pulled out and wen't back to standing mid range. It surprised hopkins...

An ugly affair that results in a close disputed decision.

Who would've gotten the decision is anyone's guess.

Hopkins landed nothing significantly at all in the fight, Dawson clearly won the first despite all the cheerleading by Kellerman.

Dawson would have picked up the pace and won a decision.

Although I was very skeptical before the fight, what I saw made me believe that Dawson could have outpointed Hopkins.

Nothing in the 2 rounds deterred me from my original prediction, Hopkins UD

I had it 1-1 and I think it would've been close throughout.

    very possible draw

    This...

Dawson landed several pretty good and unexpected shots on Hopkins where it would stop him in his tracks looking surprised. IMO those shots would have kept coming as dawson was boxing and timing hopkind landing some nice uppercut and hooks on hopkins.

Ugly fight to watch much like Hop-Calz, with Hopkins faking low blows and rabbit punches through out. In the end I think we would have seen a 116-112 or 115-113 type fight for Dawson, with Hopkins bitching and crying in the interview about how he was robbed.

I agree with the posts about Dawson looking the better man for a good part of the 2 rounds, but imagine if Pascal-Hopkins 2 had been stopped in the 3rd or 4th due to some kind of foul-induced injury? People would say Hopkins was too old, Pascal learned from his mistakes, and that he wasn't going to be active enough.

Sure enough, he figured him out and while it was a close fight, he dominated in most of the rounds he won.

Dawson had a great chance to beat Bernard, but 2 rounds isn't enough to be sure IMO.
