How would the rest of the fight went? (Hopkins/Dawson)

i had a small play(two units) on dawson as no one was sure which dawson would show up. after the first round dawson was clearly motivated and understood the tactics that hopkins was going to employ having winky in his corner.

a prime motivated dawson would have been too much for b-hop.

if dawson is motivated in the rematch, i could see a clear easy win for him.

b-hop from here on out is a great fade, especially coming off a similar injury that retired whitaker.

 

Probably would've picked up the pace, about the rest I'm totally agree.

No, he's always calm, I don't think he was confident but he was relax to say the least, the end shows he wasn't that composed.

 

I'll follow up the posts I already made by saying I'm not sure Dawson could have sustained that pace. People pointed to Hopkins looking uncomfortable, which is true, because he hadn't found any way to establish an offensive rhythm yet, but upon re-watching it seems that Dawson was burning nervous energy and throwing too much without landing in an effort to reassure himself.

 

:good, I was gonna say something like that. And another thing people don't look at is, Hopkins gets better as the fight goes on in all his fights, where Dawson usually starts to fade and fight in spurts. Either way Dawson would have to be consistent a whole fight to beat Bernard and he's never shown he can do that against a decently skilled opponent.

 

Dawson would have won by a large margin.
