Martinez would totally beat the **** out of Mayweather at 154lbs. Too strong, comparable in speed and I would say Martinez would even have better and faster mobility. Mayweather has no other option to go back to 147lbs.

Atleast fighting at 154lbs won't be an excuse for Floyd when the Pac/Mayweather comes up again. I guess he would have to stick to his $40mil plus no PPV excuse :-(

I think Martinez would beat him at 154. Floyd needs to stay at 147.

martinez would be a big problem for mayweather. you need a good combination of size and skill to beat mayweather, and martinez has both

Nail on head .Serg has better head movement than cotto longer reach than floyd 1 punch ko power, good footwork , good handspeed on par with floyd. If cotto was able to land the jab what do you think floyd will do when Serg sticks his jab in Floyds face.

Floyd doesn't belong at 154? Because he lost control of a couple of rounds last night? Because he's 35? Or because there's a chance he could lose?
So you guys would rather have him fight @147 where he's "sure" to look invincible..
Fighting a tough fight is the whole point of competition. Fighting yourself up the food chain seems more rewarding than eating those already below you.
Having said that, I think Floyd would do extremely well against a Martinez. He would definitely need to box and use all counters because Martinez would impose is size and come to do some major damage. If Floyd does not control distance however, Martinez would land his left even at the cost of him getting tagged in the process. He has the angles, speed and power to take Floyd where he's never been before.

I agree. In the center of the ring, Martinez would beat him all night. You notice he never even mentioned Martinez after the fight. Betting money is he fights Khan next providing he beats Peterson AGAIN.
