The 80s had many promising talents

They would do as well, if not better, than guys like Whyte and Chisora. They are a clear step up from guys like Brezeale, Duhapas, Molina, Szpilka etc.

I wouldn’t have the confidence in David Bey to do much. He was good for 14 fights and then lost to every worthy opponent he faced after that. Snipes would have been a small heavyweight today and while he could crack at times didn’t exactly have a ton of power. He might have been fringe.

Well if porky Ruiz can win a title, then I'm not putting it past Bey or Snipes to get lucky.

Snipes? Top 10. His fights were never boring. Athletic, scrappy, and could box well when he needed to.

They wouldn’t do well. Too small and not talented enough. Snipes would be game at cruiserweight though.

You know...this is tricky about Snipes. He was so weird, unfathomable at times.

I think he'd break the top 10 simply by being so hard to pin down.

Bey would get knocked silly comparatively early imo.

Bey doesn't do much at all. Snipes might sneak into the rankings but would fall short against top 10 guys. He had talent and wasn't super undersized. I don't see him getting past the Parker level guys.

I'm not a fan of today's Heavyweights and i prefer 80's Heavyweights by far. But honestly i don't see either fighter doing any better now, than what they did in the 80s. They were top 10 contenders at some point in 80s, and thats about all they'd achieve now in this era if at all.

Snipes was a much better athlete and would be a Top 10 guy, fringe or not, in any era most likely.

I was never quite sure how Bey got to the point where he was getting magazine headlines like "Is Bey the new Marciano?" Really nice guy from all accounts, but slow and not particularly hard hitting. I wanted him to rattle Larry's cage but he was more like a middling sparring session for him.
