How would Tyson Fury fare against a good swarmer or an aggressive counterpuncher?

Fury's style would put him at a significant disadvantage against a good swarmer or an aggressive counterpuncher. Ali struggled against Frazier and Holmes lost to Tyson. Tunney did beat Greb and Dempsey though. So, what will happen if Tyson Fury goes up against a good swarmer? Or an aggressive counterpuncher? Will he be able to win?

All boxer punchers struggle against rugged swarmers, boxer punchers (other than Roberto Duran) need room to land their best shots. There aren't really any "elite" swarmers at HW, the closest would probably be Chisora and let's be honest...................he's not elite.

I think an "elite" swarming volume that was maybe 6'0- 6'2 220-230 would have the entire division in hell TBH. Don't think that exists at HW

You swarm a 6'8" 270 pound man with Fury's toughness and fight IQ as a glorified midget you're getting done in. Fury toys with midgets.

Correct about swarmers giving Fury problems, Usyk too for that matter. A good counterpuncher might be able to catch him off guard. Fury has a tendency to lower his at times. That's how Cunnigham caught him, also 2 of the 4 Wilder KDs were because he was off-guard.

Miniq's a one trick pony. He'll say the same thing no matter who Fury is pitted against.

You can't compare him to good fighters because he avoids them.

I say a good swarmer with a good body attack can cause Fury issues. He really didn't like Wilder going to the body. A guy like M. Tyson, with good head movement, fast feet and goes hard to the body would trouble TF. But Fury is smart, he most definitely would clinch and hold then put all his weight on the shorter guy. If the shorter guy can't get Fury out of the by 6, I think Fury would grind him down, take his legs and end up stopping them by the 10th.

He'd smother them, drain them and KO them. Fury unlike every other current big heavyweight knows how to frame, post, collar tie, clinch etc. You're not going to beat him by just trying to go at him and throw a load of punches, it will just make it easier for him to tie you up and shut you down.

Only an elite counter puncher would make a difference. It's a dangerous strategy and erodes quick with age.
And Usyk fans calling anybody else a nut hugger is hilarious. There is so much slobber around here I have
    to clean my screen off.

N'Gannou fought as an aggressive counter puncher.

Tyson-Holmes was extremely circumstencial. Larry was a sacrificial lamb pulled out of retirement with short camp to shed a lot of weight. If anything, he had the style to beat Tyson. Elite jab, ring geometry, lead hand control game, and clinches.

As far as I'm aware, Tunney was quite an aggressive fighter at his own weight, and his splendid inside fighting played a huge role in him controlling Dempsey the way he did.

But yes, an elite swarmer unimpeded by modern anti-inside game refereeing would be terrifying.
