So young up and coming Golota do against these Tyson Victims, he's fighting the same version s that Tyson beat? Berbick Smith' Thomas Tucker Biggs Holmes Think he could get 6 and 0 ?
He beats Biggs and Thomas ( Pinklon was faded from drug abuse by 1987. ) Not sure about the others. Holmes is a tough call because I’m not sure how good or bad he was in 1988 after all that time off. Golata might beat smith unless he gets backed into a corner and hammered on. I might favor Tucker to beat him. Berbick would be a tough fight
I'm really not sure he beats any of them. If he beats Biggs or Thomas it has to be early because they could both box, and I think both are cute enough to avoided Golotas crude attacks and keep him at the end of their fantastic jabs. I actually think Golota gets stopped by these guys...for me, and I know its a stereotype, but he always seemed a flat track bully, and if didn't get the job done quick, or of the opponent didn't capitulate to his physicality he'd start letting his doubts become giant shadows, and Andrew doesn't like the dark....
This is actually a fair point, I meant more in comparison to Thomas and Biggs who were, or could be, excellent boxers with wonderful, fluid jabs and decent feet. Andrew always seemed that little bit more flat footed, that bit more upright (they used to call it the European style!), and that little bit more laboured than those he fought...and sometimes beat!!
Golota Vs Thomas is the fight I never knew I needed until seeing this... All of these bouts would be great ones. Prime versions of all these men, he might go 2-4 or 3-3. Against the versions that Tyson faced? 5-1. Bests everyone other than Biggs.... And maybe Tucker.
Great answer s guys. Myself, it's.. Wun 12 Berbick Wun 12 Smith (suffers kd in round 1 but comes back well) Wko 9 Thomas ( Golota slightly behind on the card's at time of stoppage) Draw 12 Tucker.( It really was that close with neither man ever gaining an edge) Wko 10Biggs( Biggs starts off great winning the first 4 rounds, but fades after five and Golota step's up and stops him. W12 Holme's (Larry loses a decision but remains on his feet through out)
Agree with most of this, except I think Golota fails to stop Thomas, but wins a UD, and Tucker decisions Golota. Every one of these fights would be quite interesting though.
Yes they would. And Golota could be very unpredictable so anything could happen in those fights. The Tucker one is the one I find hardest to really predict. He had great mobility, skilled and solid Chin. He'd possibly Push Andrew the most.
I could see him entering all 6 fights as the favorite and ending up losing four of them. I’m surprised at all the hate Thomas is getting. He was still in his twenties when he fought Tyson, had Dundee, and fought a smart fight. Dundee wouldn’t have been there if Thomas were on drugs. Golota would eventually implode against Thomas because Thomas wouldn’t go anywhere. It would probably be pretty close to the Grant fight but without the early knockdown.
