How would Wilder’s chin do if he was trained to go toe to toe?

What if Malik or some other trainer trained Wilder to fight toe to toe from rd 1 and just take the shots in exchange instead of fighting on back foot waiting for the big right hand? His chin survived Ortiz and Parker’s hardest punches but will it be a better strategy than what he did with Parker?

The best strategy is to hit and not be hit. Unless it's a swan song fight this would be the wrong idea going forward. At the age of 38 you don't want to all of a sudden start taking lots of punishment in fights.

He would do poorly. Wilder has a below average chin for a heavyweight. Many of the shots that Fury dropped him with wouldn't have even fazed a heavyweight with a good chin.

Wilder’s isn’t built to take abuse and as always he’s completely useless on the inside.
