He won with two scores of 115-12 and another of 116-111.

Like I said, it's simply not true that Fury barely beat Wlad. It wasn't a shutout by means, but it was a completely decisive victory.

The thing is in this era Wlad would have fought many guys that AJ and Fury didn't because he actually defended his title aginst up and comers.

Wlad is better than Usyk, Fury and AJ prime for prime. The Fury and AJ fights left little doubt that a few years earlier Wlad would have been the winner.

I could get on board with this. I wouldn't totally count out a stoppage of Usyk. I might slightly favor him to decision Fury but could see it the other way.

Wlad barely did anything. Fury barely threw punches and won anyway. Hardly a win I would consider great.

He’d have bored me and a lot of other people to tears for nearly a decade.

There's far more better elite big men in this era some as big Wladimir and are big punchers aswell.

Zhang could do a Corrie Sanders on him.

Bakole could give him alot of trouble like Peter did.

    Dubois, Joshua, are big hitters.

Fury is a horrible style match up for him

Kabayel, Parker, would also be other problematic opponents.

Then you have of course the man of the moment Usyk who I've heard put it on Wladimir in sparring.

Wladimir certainly wouldn't have a long reign let's put it that way.

C´mon, Sanders looks like Roy Jones Jr compared with Zhang. The difference in speed is hideous.

They're both hard hitting Southpaws and Zhang is a fast starter yes Sanders has quicker hands but Zhang also throws better correct punches and has a much studier chin.

Hence Wladimir could get wiped out by Zhang within the first 6 rounds.

He beats Fury, AJ and Wilder and loses to Usyk.

You hit the nail on the head. Wlad fought everybody that was in front of him. He unified the titles and consistently defended 2x or 3x a year for a decade. AJ can’t make 2 defenses without getting ktfo and Fury has a mental breakdown and takes 2 years off every few fights. Usyk has been the only one striving for greatness but he’s only fought 6 times in the last 5 years.

"Pre-prime Wlad" aka Wlad in his 20's got TKO'd by Puritty ("journeyman"), Sanders ("fringe contender") and Brewster ("fringe contender").

Fury beat him 10-2 by consensus on fan sites, in his world title debut, in 4/1 favourite Wlad's backyard, while barely taking damage.

Wlad utterly sh*t the bed against Joshua. I don't give him a pass for letting green pro AJ off the hook. Look what Ruiz and Dubois did when they had him badly hurt.

Usyk is 3-0 vs Fury and Joshua, who were clearly the most athletic big men Wlad ever fought.

The most dangerous punchers Wlad beat during his title run were Haye (6'2, 213 lbs) and Povetkin (6'1, 226 lbs). He had a relatively easy run fighting smaller, usually slower and much lighter punching men with Greco-Roman wrestling moves in his stadium of choice.

Wlad used to be underrated (and perhaps still is compared to boxers from 50+ years ago) but he's overrated compared to those who came after him. This is the usual pattern.

Laughing at the commentary that thinks Zhang or Bakole are even remotely competitive against Wlad.

Zhang is a fat 40-something sack of crap who isn’t good enough to even get himself a shot at a strap…but somehow he’s KO’ing a literal ATG who is just as big and just as strong as he is?

    That’s comedy gold, that is.

Is Peter really any better than Bakole ? He had Wladimir down 3 times. I'm not saying Bakole wins but his durability and aggression would make it interesting.

Sanders never really won a meaningful fight outside of the shocking Wladimir upset. Zhang is a Southpaw and a huge puncher he would definitely be a threat to Wladimir in the first 6 rounds.

The only reason Zhang can't get a shot is because Usyk pretty much holds all the belts and everyone has to play the waiting game for Fury/Usyk 2.
