How would you feel about Bute if he doesn't do his utmost to fight Kessler in 2009?

Let me spell this out...Stieglitz and Tsypko have been mandated by the IBF to fight an eliminator to become Bute's mandatory. They haven't fought yet. If Bute were to fight one of them in Spring, the IBF would mandate another guy to take the place of the one Bute fought (and beat)...Also, why would either of these two fight Bute when they could fight someone easier than Bute first, and THEN fight Bute...(more money).

No why would they not fight each other in the spring? As in the eliminator?

Well, because the purse bid hasn't taken place yet and they need to prepare properly for a crucial fight for their career...neither of them will get a better crack at a title again.

I can see the logic in that. It is 4 months till the end of April so it would not be an inconceivable timescale. Especailly since they would only be fighting on another they will not fight anybody else so it would only be the purse for those particacular fighters that would be getting argued over.

I don't like hearing/reading how Bute is not ready for Kessler yet. Bute has an abc belt and is proud to be called a world champ so as a world champ he should be ready to fight anyone.
I have no right no knock his match making though as I sport a JC avatar.

Yes, you do! Just like the rest of us have a right to criticise Joe's.

And none of us want Bute to end up fighting some of the fights Joe has been doing, just to keep the "0" and break longevity records, right?

I think this fight will happen. Whe it happens I cannot be sure, but I think these 2 will go on to become to dominant forces at 168.

I hope Kessler jumps right back in the saddle and starts comepeting at the highest level. Bute is going to be well managed by the looks of things. He is a great talent who i respect alot, im also going to ket the Joppy fight go aslong as he shows interest in fighting more meanigful fights after.

Kessler - Bute will definately happen.

He does consider himself a Champ. He said he was ready to fight everyone. However, he also said that he would need more time to develop and learn in order to make a fight with the likes o Calzaghe and Kessler competitive. No contradictions here, I don't think. ;)

The contradiction is that he says hes world champion but hes not ready for the best fighters in his division...

I think he wants to make some easy money with his new shiny belt before he takes a real risk.

The reason I like Kessler so much is, when he won the WBA belt, he went for the WBC belt, and then for the WBO belt. He could have done a Mouthdine thing, milking the title. But he went for pride instead, thats why people like him belt or not! He is a true worrier :bbb

It's not what he wants, but what InterBox think is right for him, mate.

He says he is the IBF World Champion at 168. Is he wrong?

He says he is not ready for Joe and Mikkel yet. Is he wrong?

Where is the contradiction? Would you rather he said he WAS ready for Joe and Mikkel when he thought he wasn't. Or would you rather he hadn't fought Bika and Berrio, for the IBF belt?
