It seems to be a general consensus that in boxing, like an all other major sports, there should be ONE major governing body. Like FIFA in football. But, how would this work? How would fight scheduling go? Would it be like the amateurs, with tournaments? Like Tennis? Or the way it is now, with promoters and controversy? What would be an ideal scenario for boxing?
Ideally, it would be something like the UFC where the organization is also the promoter, and doesn't charge a belt fee. But since that will never ever happen, we get this convoluted mess. Ah well, MMA is slowly headed in that direction.
