    IF, IF, IF

And IF he lose vs Ward, vs Bute, the remtach vs Kessler and the rematch vs Pascal....Would you consider him as a All Time Hype?

Froch would then have to be considered as arguably the 2nd best SMW ever.
His SMW resume wouldnt be as good as Calzaghes and anyone who knows the 2 eras would know that. Ward and Bute etc wouldnt be as good a win as undefeated Kessler who Froch lost to, or Eubank but Bute would be better than Lacy. Then Calzaghe would have too many other names like Reid, Woodhall, Mitchell.
Still Froch would have a top SMW resume and if he wins a world title at LHW and has a couple of good defences he could have a good resume.
ATG possibly have to see who he beats at LHW if it happens

he needs to rematch kessler and win and a kelly pavlik win will do nothing for him, kessler win is more important

Froch is great but he's unlikely to beat Ward.

How is he hype he earned his reputation up until 6 months ago he didn't even have a tv deal with sky if someone is hype its lucian bute he hasn't fought anyone of note at all. And ward is a good fighter but he hasnt beaten any1 besides kessler, froch has fought the best in his last 6 fights and if he rematches kessler and applies more pressure and more punch output he will win.

Some people liked Carl against Johnson, but I'm thinking that those must be the ones that haven't seen too many cobra fights.

Carl looked good against Kessler (although he fairly lost, but in a fight that honoured both) and he looked slightly better against AA. Then against johnson his power, stamina, and mood seemed completely off. I had Carl winning but in a lackluster performance where he looked like he was sleepy or weightsrained or something.

Yes, if Carl would get all those wins he would definitely be hot. But it is virtually impossible because Carl's style is not easy on the body and even a prime cobra would probably be the underdog in most or all of them.

You're so biased to US fighters it's unreal.

So if Froch beats Ward, who isn't proven to be as good as at least 5 retired Euro SMW's (not even including all weights Euro champs), then beats Dirrell who isn't as good as Ward, then beats Pavlik, who argubaly wouldn't even turn up to the fight, then fights an aging Hopkins who you don't give Calzaghe any credit for beating, and then fights another "up and coming young gun", who would probably be another US hype job that also isn't as good as Ward, then he'd then overtake all former European based World champions!?!?

I don't know if you're overating Froch or the potential opponents!??!?

Thats alot of work for Froch to deal with. I'm not sure he's going to continue in the sport for that long. He's always hinted at a fairly early retirement.

Froch's a good MW, but he's had some ropey results along the way. Behind in fights and coming back, a loss to Kessler, dubious SD against Dirrell. Two of his fellow SMW's also handed Abraham a fairly one sided defeat. Still not sure about that stance or technical skills. He leaves himself unbalanced when he throws shots, hands are often low or wide apart. Can envision some decent wins, he's achieved a great deal and is one of the top SMWs, but I doubt he'd clean up at light heavyweight or anything.

Is it necessary to rank fighters as the best of all time, or in a division? There are so many variables involved and opinions. In ten years time the best of one era are often pretty much forgotten. Is the elite a near unobtainable level which only genius-level figures reach, e.g. Bob Beaman or Jack Nicklaus, or can any modern top fighter waltz into a spot. Personally, I don't rate such questions with much importance, is he any good right now is what I judge.

How was his stamina off though? him being so well conditioned was the reason he was able to win the final rounds and win the fight.
I think he looked good, glen johnson is a tough match up for anyone and stylistically he matches up very well with Froch.
The only thing that worried the hell out of me was him dropping right hand bombs on him the whole fight, if froch didnt have an iron chin he would have been taken out.
I agree that all those big fights he is having are taking its toll on him, if there is any guy that deserves an easy fight after the s6 its froch. If he fights kessler, ward, bute and ends up 2/3 in those fights I think it already would be really great, I also wouldnt mind seeing him vs martinez or move up to lightheavy weight, froch has many options and including ward 6 fights seems about right.

When did Woodhall, Mitchell and Reid become top class fighters? They were belt holders in a 4 division era. Who did any of them beat with any class? Calzaghe is hardly known for taking on all comers. Eubank was an old timer and semi-retired when he fought Calzaghe. He's got the defences, but not the names. Froch has better names on his record now, if he took on and defeated Bute and Ward - it would be an easy decision.

SMW doesn't have the greatest of reputations in general for honest defenses (possibly due to its relatively new status). At least Froch entered the Super 6, to help rectify matters. I'm not saying Froch in fact would defeat all of those opponents, he probably wouldn't, but it would be some feat.

Calzaghe beat #3. Woodhall, #5. Brewer and #6. Reid. #7. Tate pulled out against Calzaghe and retired, #4. Ottke wouldnt fight Calzaghe and Calzaghe KOd the fighter that KOd #1 Liles.

So who was Calzaghe not facing in his division?
