In The Ring yearbook 2003, Rocky is rated above the following middleweights,
Julian Jackson,Gerald McClellan,Bennie Briscoe,Rodrigo Valdez,Florentino Fernandez, Eduardo Lausse and Cyclone Hart....Would Graziano possibly hit harder thanthese fighters? I can't see anyone hitting harder than Julian Jackson IMO.
What does the board think?... Is Graziano overated in this respect? :huh

I used to think Iran Barkley was the Black version of Graziano, raw power but vurnerable to be countered, Barkley beat Hearns 2 times but was beaten by an old and overweight Duran...Graziano dropped SSR and Stellchinned Zale but was put down by monsterous combo's by them also. I dont know about him having more power than Jackson but he had more power than the rest mentioned but Graziano fought with a reckless abandament and he could be caught flush coming in like Gatti...Rocky loved the art of exchange but did not have the chin or recupritive power of his namesake Rocky Marciano but Graziano was no slouch in the punching department and never lacked heart

When it comes to punching power none of these mentioned had quite the power of Eduardo Lausse. His left hook was amazing!

Graziano looks ferocious in his fights...I just wasn't sure where to place him in the context of punching power...Was he the most popular fighter of his day? I bet he was...

Graziano hit hard with the right though. When it landed, most cases it was lights out. Perhaps punch for punch, Graziano hit harder, its mostly guess work unless they had there punchings testing of couse compare to Graziano.
I pretty shock Micky Walker didnt make the top 100. And they had Holyfiled over Walker, Geez. Walker was a great banger.

McClellan's power at middleweight was more impressive than Jackson's.

I would not whole heartedly debate that point with you...McClellan had awesome power...Shot for shot, I feel Jackson just shades it...Just speculation though...McClellan was certainly the more durable...which he proved!

Some of the list had the great boxers in the top 100 though.

Holyfiled being in the top 40 I belive. Firpo and Simon Baer got there also, in the bottom of the 100's, around 80 or so. I guess I either have to drag the the Ring out and start looking for it in my LONG collection some were, or look on line for the puncher list.

Dempsey. I think even Jack in that picture would take that hat off to your list! That was quite abit of work.

Rocky Graziano got on the map by kayoing Billy Arnold-who was a real prospect-with a punch that should've gotten him rated. He was dangerous;not unbeatable.ESPN Classic does Graziano.
