Usyk's chin is a big unknown for me. We all know it's definitely a good chin but is it great or granite? He is one of the boxers who very rarely gets hit clean, he always seems to roll with shots and take a lot of sting out of them. There was one right hand from AJ in round 6 that Usyk didn't see coming, here it is:

This was a great punch as Usyk was coming in, he didn't roll with that one at all and caught it flush on the chin. He was visibly shaken by that punch and his eyes were wide open, but when you actually look at it, Usyk went back to his stance as he normally would and didn't look troubled even though his eyes told a different story. This punch was probably the closest Usyk was to truly being hurt, there was another instance

Another fantastic punch that Usyk absorbed was from Gassiev at the end of the 4th round. He rolled with that one a little bit but it still caught the sweet spot and had Usyk going for the clinch.

But we never seen Usyk truly hurt in his career.

So how would you rate Usyk's chin 1-10?

I am personally rating it at somewhere between 8 and 9, probably and 8.5.

Good luck hitting him with anything big

He can absorb straights and jabs

A big hook will wobble him good luck landing it.

    7/10

Fury will stop him to the body and submit him. Maybe suplex off the cornerpost.

Fury is too big to hurt Usyk to the body, he won't be able to put enough into his punches throwing it at such a downward angle

9 out of 10. probably the best chin in HW, atm.

Better than fury / AJ / wilder and Whyte

Not so easy to rate the chin of someone who gets hit flush so rarely.

The shot Joshua landed in 6 clearly got a reaction, but he didn't show it enough to embolden Joshua, he didn't need to clinch, his legs were fine, and he seemed to recover in a few seconds to start moving again as usual.

Gassiev got him with a good one and forced him to clinch, but he recovered quickly again. Gassiev is a big banger.

Haven't seen him react much to anything else. I don't think he's ever been dropped even as an amateur, or at least not from a head shot, forgive me if I'm misinformed. He's been in with a lot of hard punchers too.

You have to give it credit. I'll say 8. Loses a point for being somewhat untested in flush shots. Loses another compared to guys with acromegaly/gigantism.

Go watch Fury back in the day

It was his pièce de résistance

Very good, AJ hit him with a massive right WHEN Usyk was coming in as well. All it seemed to do was wake Usyk up

Solid chin, good composure/awareness when stung with something, quick recovery.

    His chin seems solid.

His body might be a concern though.

Everyone's body is a concern. I've never seen him hurt to the body. But his body is much easier to land on than his chin.

Nothing wrong with his body, cause Gassiev has landed some heavy, heavy bombs and Usyk didnt even feel them.

As far as his chin goes at CW 10 out of 10, at HW probably between 7-9.

Beterbiev hurt him to the body in the 2nd round with 12 oz gloves as an amateur and made Usyk take a knee, I believe in 2011.

Obviously very good, but can't say if it's to the level of someone like Froch as his feints, footwork and headmovement mean he barely ever takes a clean shot on the chin.

Yeah, that was 10 years ago, taking a knee once in a 360 fight career is not too bad and Beterbiev is a monstrous body puncher.

Took me 5 seconds to realise you were talking about Usyk
