How good or bad would you say Ward's resume is? Just as a reminder, he's fought and beaten: Froch Kessler Bika Abraham Green Dawson I'd say it's very good. He's fought and beaten most of the top fighters in his weight class, many of them in dominant fashion.
Solid. He's proved himself as a boxer but his style ain't exactly one that would gain him fans and get him talked about. For that reason his resume will be pretty much ignored and forgettable.
Very good. It's a shame he's sitting on the shelf for so long but he should still end up as the greatest Super-Middleweight ever. He's almost there already.
Ward is very similar to Sven Ottke. - feather fisted - Olympic medal - became afraid to fight outside his home country after turning pro Only difference is that Ward uses his home refs to permit him to use illegal tactics like headbutts and hitting off the break, while Ottke used home refs to protect him. And Ottke never insisted boxers from 175 need to weight-drain down to 168 to fight him
How would I rate Ward's resume? Vince Phillips Zab Judah Emanuel Burton Jesse James Leija Arturo Gatti solid C+
Froch: Ward held all the time and should have had points deducted. who knows how the fight would have turned out if he forced to fight clean. the fight was also close, so those deductions would have helped. but to save going into an argument, it was a very good win. if Ward would have fought clean and done the job properly, i would give it as a great win. Dawson: drained. meant **** all. Bika: good win. Bika had been out for ages and got ****ed over on the cards, but Ward was the rightful winner. Abraham: lost his last 2 fights and had zero confidence going in, so that only makes it a good win and no more. it was a very good win for Froch based on it being neutral, Abraham being the favorite, and Froch having lost his last fight. Kessler: Ward should have been DQ'd . it meant nothing what so ever. Green: who? means nothing again. so only the Bika, Abraham and Froch fights have any worth to them. so how good is his resume? nothing to write home about that's for sure.
he's the 2nd best fighter in all of boxing at the moment. solid resume that stacks up against the best of them.
yes i am... what's that got to do with anything? Ward has only fought one Brit so it's hardly bias is it.
