But, are you a fan of a certain fighter that reigns supreme in the division all time? Is there any reason you would want to downplay Ward's victories, regardless of the fighter being British?:think:rofl
his resume is solid, wins over guys like Froch, Dawson, Abraham, Bika are good wins, but you can look at it both ways, if he chose to rematch the guys he already beat in their hometown, he would get a lot more credit, especially if he beat and dominated Froch in England, or he can move up to 175 and fight guys Stevenson, Pascal, Bute, Kovalev or Cleverly and try to dominate there, personally, I would like to see Ward return to full health and go after the top dogs at 175, because it's a whole new division and a lot bigger challenges than rematching a shot Kessler in Denmark, or an ageing Froch in England
he's the #2 lb for lb fighter right now. resume is solid. the guy is a winner. some of the critics of ward's wins are clowns. they only mean nothing after he wins them.
are we talking about Calzaghe here? come on, man. give me a bit more credit than that. i judge Ward on what he's done in the ring, not by comparing him against others. can you really argue with what i said about his resume and how good/meaningful his wins are? i'd like to see your view. do you think his win over Kessler was clean and legitimate? do you think his win over a drained as hell Dawson has any worth to it? :think
if he fought and beat Bute within the rules, i'd call it a great win. but he didn't so it's pointless to ask. that boat has well and truly passed. wins over either Dirrell are no more than good wins. the pair of them haven't done anything for them to be considered any more than that.
I was just flipping you a little ****. Kessler was a good win, not near as good as Calazhage's though.. Dawson was in horrible shape too, I don't rate it that much.. It would mean more if Ward did what great champions do and move up to challenge the man at his weight... But Dawson was at fault there for going to Ward. Ward has a good resume, not great.
Fine resume thus far, but I hope he's more active in the future to help deepen it up. By the numbers Ward's record against fighters who were: Rated at top 10 at 168 at time of fight: 5-0 168 lb champions at the time of fight: 2-0 Have ever held a 168 lb title: 4-0 Were ever top 10 rated fighters (in any division): 7-0 Were ever champions (in any division): 5-0
i guess we're on opposite sides of the fence where the Kessler fight is concerned. Ward should have been DQ'd for that. 100%. it has zero meaning for me as a win. same goes for the dawson win. obviously for different reasons. :good
