I think he's a good boxer, do you think he has a chance to be a champion?

Very good boxer. Smart and hit like ****ing mule with both hands. Has good offensive skills and punch variation.

But he also has 2 big, big minuses. 1 - he is old. 2 - he has dreadful stamina.

In some regards he reminds me Corrie Sanders. Both big southpaws with quick hands (Zhang is obviously bigger and Sanders was obviously quicker) and amazing power. Both tough and smart. Both had really bad stamina. Both came to the big scene in their late 30s

He got power, if he connects he can put anyone away. And he got a good chin.

But he also has low output and not the best stamina.

His best wins are the two fights with Joyce when Joyce was at the top of his game. But he also has a loss against Hrgovic, and Hrgovic didn’t give a very good showing last night. And then he lost to a world class fighter in Parker. His win against Wilder although spectacular……well Wilder is shot. And it was apparent Wilder is shot going into the fight. A big name win and he did exactly what he had to do but not to many bragging rights come with it.

Honestly in a fair world he should fight Dubois. Zhang beat Joyce and lost to Hrgovic. And Dubois lost to Joyce and beat Hrgovic. So Zhang and Dubois should fight to see who is better.

I suspect Zhang will end up being another big "what if" fighter.
Mainly "what if Zhang had turned pro earlier in his life".
I like the guy, he's good enough and may even have enough juice left in those legs to snag one of the belts if they free up somehow, but I don't see him beating one of the current top 3 given his inability to go 12 hard rounds at pace or adjust to an effective plan B when he was in there with Parker.

Titles would need to be split for him to win a title and I don't think he has that much time left given his age and I wouldn't favour him over Usyk, Fury, Joshua or Parker. But he might every well scrape into the top 5. But then Dubois might very well have a case to rank above him having beaten Hrgovic who officially has a win over Zhang in a close fight.

Very capable fighter, one of those who has the potential to beat some of the best in the division but one that can also lose to some unexpected.

I think him Vs Dubois is a great fight.

Very good comparison. IIRC, Vitali said Sanders was the hardest he had ever been hit.

Yes but Zhang has two wins over Joyce. And Joyce beat Dubois.

That’s why Zhang and Dubois should fight each other. To clear that up.

Lol you're right I'd forgotten about that and yes that's a fight I'd like to see, two bruisers slugging it out.

Yes, both Vitali and Wlad said they have never been hit like that which tells a lot considering Vitali fought Lewis and Wlad fought a bunch of big punchers like Peter, AJ, Brewster, Haye, Jefferson and others

Zhang's right hook is the best i have ever seen from a southpaw heavyweight boxer. And like most southpaws, he has a huge left hand.

He has good punching variety, quick hands, and good intelligence in finding defensive flaws in his opponents.

On the other hand, he is 30 pounds overweight. He should not weigh more than 250. Poor stamina and not a great mover.

He's definitely a 'what if' fighter. I don't think he would ever lose a street fight. In terms of raw fighting skills and power, he's no.1 but like others have said, he's too old snd his stamina is terrible.
