A mate of mine has been watching the sport since the mid 80s and of late he has grown tired of the sport and it's put him on a bit of a downer to be honest given his love for it.

His interest in the sport is becoming less and less. He puts it down to lack of quality fights and tv coverage amongst other reasons. He's checking the sites less and less, stopped buying the mags, isn't adding to his fight collection so...

If you could help him how would you restore his faith in the sport?

that will just make him think about how **** it is now compared to how it was.

explain to your mate that there 4 parallel universes and thats why theres 4 world titles.

but in all seriousness, show him the super 6 with fightcamp 360 rolled in, direct him to gorilla productions on youtube

show him a fight like arroyo-okada the other night. two young novices that went all out for four rounds in a cracking little fight. shows not everyone out there is just looking for an easy payday

Your friend sounds just like me. Only a few years ago I was a rabid boxing fan, posted on ESB all the time, would argue 'til I was blue in the face & loved it.
Steadily though, my interest has waned to the point where I only check this place evry other day, & hardly post anymore. Only thing that keeps me interested is Craig McEwan, but Im so BORED with domestic boxing. Dont get me wrong, I still get excited about the megafights sometimes, but domestic boxing? It aint doing it for me anymore. I simply walk past boxing News whereas I used to always check it out on a Friday, an old pal of mine I bumped into asked me some boxing info & for the first time in years I had to admit I couldnt help him as I dont keep up with the sport like I used to.
Thing is, Im not gloating about it, I hate what boxing has become & how its alienating me, cos I dont want to be alienated. Its happening though, & I bet there are many posters here who feel the same way as I do.

For instance, I was looking forward to Simpsons next fight- now OFF Ricky Burns next fight-Now OFF, Tyson Fury Big John McDermott fight-OFF

Or so the rumours are anyway. & its shite like this that is driving me away. I just want entertaining competitive fights on these shores a monthly basis, is that too much to ask?

Marquez v Vazquez I to III. :smile

Or a quality fight from even more recent times, Mares v Perez for example.

Or wait till Mayweather-Pacquiao is announced.

I no exactly how you feel. If Harrison vs Haye happens and there no Pacquiao vs Mayweather, i will just think whats the point. start watching more tennis.
