You really are delusional First it's because he was 22 and then because he was hit "behind the ear." You need to stop making excuses and accept facts. David Lemieux was fed nothing but bums during his career, and when he faced Rubio he landed everything but the kitchen sink yet Rubio didn't flinch. And regardless of what you believe, Rubio stopped Lemieux LEGITAMATELY. Even if you think the corner stopped it too early, he was well on his way to being KTFO. Only a fool would believe otherwise. After Alcine, a bum who exposed Lemiuex AGAIN, he was given a handful off more bums as a confidence booster. Rosado can take a good punch and that's all Lemieux has. NOTHING ELSE. Yes Rosado has cut issues, and that could be a problem tomorrow night like it was against Quillin (a fight in which he was winning), but he's also more than capable of putting Liemieux on his ass and his 3rd loss.
This is what I dont like. Just because someone isnt the best doesnt mean they are a bum. That Rosado isnt a top5, or probably even top10 but doesnt mean he is a bum. His recent losses (counting early career losses is silly, BHOP lost his first bout ffs) have all been to quality fighters. (Charlo and GGG moreso quality than Petey). Love was a robbery and on PEDs, and is NC anyhow. DL may in fact win this fight. But this is the fight he needs to see if he has what it takes to take on the top of the division. The last time he stepped up to this level he was stopped. This fight is far from a foregone conclusion.
Agreed, there are different levels of gatekeeper though. And not all who approach the final gatekeeper make it through the gate.
Quillin while overrated dropped Rosado and was winning on points against him, I like Rosado but he's average at best, Quillin also took 7 rounds to stop Guerrero, Lemieux blew him out in 2.2 rounds horrifically, so that probably means Lemieux hits way harder than Quillin which doesn't bode well for Lemieux.
I know I write threads about fighters not being called bums So that wouyld mean I'm somewhat of a hypocrite Rosado is okay, but he's being overrated by GGG and Quillin fans, because he did better than expected against them.
I dont think he did better than expected against GGG, he didnt win a single round. To me this is more of a case of DL getting placed too highly again just for pounding the **** out of Guererro. We dont know yet if DL has really improved, and can step up and pull it off versus a legit veteran fighter who can take a shot and actually punch back. Thats why I like this fight, this is DL's placement fight. If he can actually pull this off in style, then maybe its time to start considering him against 160 guys not named Golovkin.
Rosado is highly overrated himself but more proven than Lemieux. Lemieux has punched himself out and gotten stopped or just gotten beaten to the punch by two of the three best fighters he has ever fought. Rubio, Alcine, and Fernando Guerrero are hardly anything special. He destroyed Guerrero, I'll give him that, but he's just too unproven. He has a particular style and good power that has made people anoint his greatness before he has shown any remote signs.
Just just of musing a bit off topic here - but I genuinely got to thinking, who is overrating GR? I dont think anyone has theorycrafted him to beat a top 5 guy. But then I got to thinking, who, honestly are the top 5 guys? I mean I look at Rings list, and can discount Quillin and Martinez out of hand as top 5. HNN, Murray, Korobov? Nor do I count Taylor or Soliman as top 10. Meh, the 160 contenders need to get busy making some blasted fights already. Amongst themselves, not tuneups.
Yup. And it is Quillin and Sergio, unfortunately. That's how little any of the others have done. I like Hassan Ndam but he's missing any sort of fight that is worthy of mass glory.
You either have endurance or you don't, sure it can be slightly improved, but if all you have is fast twitch muscle, your ****ed for late round fights. Rosado knocks him out late in the fight, or Lemieux starches him early.
Rosado has heart and he comes to fight but he's not a contender. 160 is a good weight for him though, should be a fun fight.
