The judges had it close. Canelo wasn't embarrassed at all. In fact he dished out signifcant punishment on Floyd. Floyd after the fight was so impressed by Canelo he deemed him the future of boxing, Floyd needed physical therapy the night of the fight, noted that he had multiple injuries confirmed in a Fight Hype video. Further, Floyd committed a multitude fouls throughout the match that went unpunished. Dipping below the waist, rabbit punching, cranking Canelo's neck in the 4th round, etc. Canelo was out jabbed but the power punches were very even. Canelo also landed a good amount of body shots on Floyd, which isn't easy to do and was lost on the majority of fans. We don't need to reanalyze the match. Floyd won, but the extent at which he won and the ease that is won is vastly over stated. That's my stance, that it was close, not that I thought it was a draw.
Usyk Fury Fury Fury Fury Fury Usyk Usyk USYYYYYK!!!! Usyk Fury Usyk 114-113, Usyk. Even in rounds, with the KD deciding the matter. .... But if Fury had won round 12 on my card, he wins the fight.
115-112 Usyk. Gave him rounds 1 and 2, and rounds 8-12, with the 9th being 10-8 due to the KD. Rounds 3,7, and 12 were swing rounds, imo. So, the result could have been a round closer or a couple of rounds wider and I wouldn't have argued too strongly.
I just rewatched the match the day after, not under the buzz of the occasion and without sound. I usually do this to have a clear view, without the influencing factors of the crowd and the commentators. What I realized is that it was even more straightforward for Usyk than it seemed last night. Contrary to my previous scoring, Fury won only 3 rounds, not 4, and even the two rounds which felt really troublesome for Usyk last night—rounds 5 and 6—didn't look that bad now. Sure, Fury won them, but in the heat of the moment, I thought Usyk was in trouble and was breaking down and that Fury won these rounds by a big margin. He didn't actually. He won them but not in such dominant fashion it seemed last night. Also, it seems now that Usyk took it easy in these rounds to catch a breather and let Fury come to him at the same time. Usyk does this—takes a few rounds off in the middle—for two reasons: he needs a breather, and he needed one badly after pushing the action hard in the first 4 rounds. While he still boxed on the front foot in those two rounds, he didn't throw many punches, clearly trying to catch a break. But since he was moving forward, Fury threw punches, depleting his tank while Usyk was mainly in eco mode. Then, from round 7, Usyk stepped on the gas again and didn't stop until the very end, winning all 6 rounds in the second half of the fight. So my final scorecard now reads: R1 – Usyk R2 – Usyk R3 – Usyk R4 – Fury R5 – Fury R6 – Fury R7 – Usyk R8 – Usyk R9 – Usyk (KD) R10 – Usyk R11 – Usyk R12 – Usyk Final score: 117-110 The judge who scored the bout for Fury must be investigated, and Fury is a disgrace for lying, claiming he thought he had won and that Usyk received sympathy scores due to the war in Ukraine. How ridiculous was it when the fat scum said, "Nobody told me I was behind on the cards. If I had known, I would have gone out in the twelfth to knock him out"? Really, nobody told you to fight tooth and nail to the very last second in a historic undisputed title fight? And you would have just knocked him out, right? After you barely survived the 9th, you were a spent force, and you couldn't even wobble him when you were landing power punches flush on him while you were still fresh as a daisy in the earlier rounds? The guy simply doesn't know how not to lie.
Rewatched the fight and this was my card. Usyk 10-9 Usyk 20-18 Usyk 30-27 Fury 39-37 Fury 48-47 Fury 57-57 Usyk 67-66 Close Usyk 77-75 Usyk 87-83 KD Usyk 97-92 Usyk 107-101 Usyk 117-110 I wouldn't argue with 115-112 but that is really generous to fury. for me this is either a 9-3 or 8-4 Usyk fight. Round 7 was a Fury round if Usyk didn't land that left with 1 minute left. May of broken Tyson's nose with that punch as fury kept pawing at it, blowing it out afterwards.
Close rounds. Gave them to Fury as he was clearly dictating and frustrating Usyk. Those rounds were the reason he was so confident in 4,5, and 6.
I had round 3 for Fury slightly. And i guess you can make a case for him winning 12. Though i gave round 12 for Usyk. However, i agree that judge needs to be investigated. He gave both rounds 11 and 12 to Fury. What a joke.
I had it close. Fury was in control after 3 rounds for a while. But Usyk had a big round with the knock down. The rematch will be good it was a great fight! Fury can win the rematch imo!
I stopped scoring after 6 or 7th... I had it 1 : Usyk 2 : Usyk 3 : Usyk 4 : Fury 5 : Fury 6 : Fury I am going to rewatch the fight because I remember thinking Usyk won the 3rd round rather easily and I get on here and people are scoring that round for Fury lol. Idk what I could have missed but Imma rewatch it. If I see what I saw the first time I want to hear some justifications as to how Fury won the third.
Rounds 3, 7 and 12 were very, very close and scoring them really is up to preferences. Do you prefer total punches landed? Do you prefer power punches? Do you prefer aggression/fighting on the front foot? I was leaning on scoring rounds 3 and 7 dead even and maybe giving Fury round 12 too although I literally might have just done that out of pity. There is no way Fury won more than 4 rounds and even that is pushing it.
Same as this. I had a 116-111 Rounds 1-3: Usyk Rounds 4-6: Fury Rounds 7-10: Usyk (+ 10-8 in round 8) Round 11: Fury Round 12: Usyk I think a 115-112 is also good. As you can make a case for Fury to have won one of early rounds even though I thought Usyk won them all. Anything closer doesn’t look right to me. Looking at this thread the most common scores are 116-111 and 115-112 for Usyk.
