As a fan of jazz nearly I **** myself whenever I see that clip purely for 'and Clam on bass'

What you like? Coltrane? Miles Davis? Monk? Not Jamie Cullum, surely ;)

I'm a bit of a luddite, but yeah, Davis, Coltrane, Monk are all quality. Davis was the first one I got into about 7 years ago. Hancock, Gillespie, Parker, Eldridge, Navarro, Ellington, that sort of thing. It was various jazz-inspired stuff like Steely Dan, Morcheeba, Massive Attack, Tricky, Portishead and stuff what got me interested in a roundabout way. Even Radiohead. I'm not too up to date on recent stuff tbh, I think Melting Pot by Zoe Rahman is the most recent album I bought.

Faux Tony Wilson pretentious dissection of values or not; taking out such illogical things as 'lucky' punches, this should be a points win to Winstone. But I still have this nagging doubt over 15 rounds at sometime The Prince will get lucky...

I would have to see more of him to make a judgement.

What were Winstone's better performances outside of the Saldivar bouts?

Saw him on BBC beating a young Jose Legra a good Ali clone who later won a world title. Also Rafiu King and Don Johnson, two longtime top 10 men.Didnt see it but beat olympic gold medallist Terry Spinks for his British title.
Enjoyed watching Nazs world title run.Backed Barerra to beat him but wouldnt have minded losing my money.Far more dissapointed when Winstone lost though. An all time favourite.

When hamed came up against a great like barerra he was convincingly beaten . People forget howard was missing his fingers on his right hand. Howard at his best with a complete right hand would have easily been in top 5 greatest feathers. Hamed no chance.

I honestly think Winstone beats him quite easily.

A real shame the overrated Hamed is appreciated so much more than Welsh great Winstone.

I think Winstone wins. Hamed would have chances because of his unorthodox angles and power and, Winstone, for all his skill wasn’t that difficult to catch.

I’d say it’s an 8-4 or 10-5 type fight with some hairy moments. Ultimately Winstone better balance and feet plus the jab win the day.
