Do you think Spinks deserved the nod?

Spinks won the first one and showed a lot of heart to come through the the heavy body shots he took around the beginning of the champiosnhip rounds. I'll score the other one some other time, it's been too long since I watched it.

Spinks took the first in one of boxing's greatest victories.

    Larry took the second.

By no means should spinks be considered the top
    HW from 86-88.

The first fight is close, but Spinks took it imo....
The second is even more close, but IMO Spinks took it again......

I haven't watched either for years and have never actually scored RBR. I think I will watch them again, becuase they were both intriguing fights.

First fight - Spinks, without question.
Already for a couple of years before the fight Holmes looked like he was ready to pass the torch.

Spinks deserved the nod in the first one. He took the fight by a two or three round margin, imo. Most of the stanzas were close in a very boring fight.

The judges should have scored it for Holmes in the rematch. I made the ageing Easton Assassin the victor by the same margin as I had him losing the first one.

Both were close, boring frustrating ...

Spinks may have edged the first ... Holmes deserved the second but was so disliked at the time it did not help him at all ..

I scored the first one to spinks by 2 rounds - the second I've Never sat down and scored but I remember my impression was that Larry did better the second time around and I was left with the feeling that Larry had been jobbed in the 2nd one - may be wrong tho - will sit down and score it (possibly tonight) and let you know

the first fight, holmes never used the advantages he had. holmes was the bigger guy but did'nt know how to use his weight and size against spinks.
also, for some reason, larry just would'nt let the right hand go often enough, spinks was also jabbing with larry, and holmes jab was his biggest plus.
spinks was taking the jab from him.
second fight, larry started fast, but spinks came on late to take the fight again.
