I'm 5'8". I have the same physique as dela Hoya in his workout picture but I weigh 155 lbs. I don't think Oscar at 5'10" weighs only 145. He must be skinny like a prisoner of the concentration camp.

I doubt he is at 145 with still 3 weeks to go but he is gonna make the weight with no problems. he really is looking very thin in his recent photos.

Oscar often claimed that after the training he weights around the weight limit, when he was a Jr middle he would weight 155-156 after the workout.

Not necessarily. If he takes his Diuhretics Daily, and spends 3 hours a day in the toilet, shitting water, and in the sauna wearing plastic bags post running on the treadmill for 12 miles, he will lose the weight.

People on here are talking nonsense. Divac and Prescott especially, who simply choose what they are comfortable in believing. Both these guys are going to ignore anything positive coming out of the De La Hoya camp. If they can jump on here with negative vibes at any opportunity, they will.

De La Hoya might well be 146lbs three weeks before the fight. He's better staying on weight three weeks before the fight than losing large chunks of weight as the fight gets closer. That would simply drain him if he if he was struggling to get down to the WW limit. Taking weight off in gradual stages is the best and safest way to do it. And if a fighter is at or around his weight three weeks before a fight then thats even better.

De La Hoya is simply making weight at this early stage to get his body accustomed and comfortable with being as low as 146lbs or thereabouts. He's never made welterweight since he fought Gatti. If he steps onto the scales at lets say 146lbs or 147lbs for the first time since stepping onto the scales to face Gatti, thats bad news. Why? Because his weight will not have been as low as it's been for 8 years.

People are saying De La Hoya is giving away his biggest advantage by being so low this early. Complete and utter nonsense. Whats the difference anyway? He'll still be stepping onto the scales at the same weight no matter what way he does it. If he was on weight weeks before the fight or having to take off 4 or 5 lbs in the days leading up to the fight, only difference is that he might gain more weight from the weigh-in until fight night if he's struggling. Which by all accounts, he's not.

"Im in the shape of my life right now" before the Sturm fight.

    Lesson?

It has more to do with the fact that he's already shown that he's dishonest about his weight on more than one occasion. We've heard tons of talk like this before yet he kills himself to make the weight.

Ok, you pathetic Scotsman, lets go over a few things here.

    1. Scotty, was easily the weakest member of the Original Star Trek series. He was a drunken gay Scotsman, and in love with Mr. Sulu.

    2. Scottish Beer is ****, 1/2 a step below Tecate.

    3. Haggis is repulsive.

    4. "In Search of....The Loch Ness Monster" hosted by Leonard Nimoy was a sham. The Loch Ness Monster is and was a sham. The Surgeon's photo was FAKE. It was a ****ing toy submarine with a toy dinosaur's head attached. The photo had no scale. The other photos were doctored or fakes as well. Uquhart Castle has as many monsters under it as ****ing Frankenstein's Castle. None. The worst ones were the ones taken by the Academy of Applied Science. The "Horned Head" was actually a tree stump, and the fin was more doctored than the scorecards for DLH-Sturm. The bubbles that the In Search of crew filmed were nothing but gas rising from rotting logs. Nessie my ass.

    5. Oscar de la Hopeless is pushing 36, baby. As much as you enjoy mastrubating to his shirtless photos, it is no longer 1999. The version of Oscar that beat JCC in 1996 would have a great chance at victory and was a natural Jr. Welter. The 1999 version that basically lost to Pernell and Tito would have a good shot against Manny Pac, and he looked good both times he lost.

    5. Oscar's biggest enemy in this fight is Stamina, and his legs. He, at this point, is a 6 round fighter. He is going to be weaker, and weaker as the rounds go on. Manny Pac is well advised to get inside his jab, and work his body. After round 7, his mouth will be open, and his shots will have lost their steam, as Manny, the King of the Stamina Athletes next to Natedogg Campbell begins to get stronger and faster, like a Filipino Muay Thai Champion.
