I just rewatched the Hoya/Mosley 2 fight. I was wondering what your take on this was. I found this fight to be clearly in Oscar's favor. Rounds 3,4,6, and 8, were very hard to decide. To me these were even rounds and even if I threw them in Mosley's favor, which would be a stretch, the fight would be a tie as I had Hoya ahead in six rounds. The only rounds I clearly saw in Mosley's favor were rounds 9 and round 12. Some people might give me **** about so many even rounds but damn, Mosley did not do anything! This is some bull**** guys. I know its ancient history but in the postfight interview Mosley has that same look of shame in winning that Hoya had against Sturm. :smoke I'd like honest opinions. This isn't about who was the better boxer just about who was better that night.
Here's the first part of the fight with Japanese commentators. Follow the links for the rest. Yeah, it's weird how that works. Recently when I watched the Mosley/Mayorga fight on a Sky Sports streaming broadcast I realized that I had watched a different fight entirely from my fellow Americans who watched it on HBO with HBO commentators. The difference between the British and American commentators gave two polar opposite impressions. Those who watched the British version though Mayorga was ahead up until the end. Those who watched HBO thought it was a landslide for Mosley.
DLH clearly won this fight - & I dont even like the *****. Anyone who `claims` to think Mosely won this fight doesnt know **** about boxing & should pack it all in as from right now. THE END !
Tarver-Jones I is another good example of how different commentators colour the perception of a fight.
Commentators do sway opinions in close fights, I usually watch contraversial fights with no sound myself, it genuinely does give you a clearer picture of what actually happened.... BUT.... This fight is not one of those, DLH won clearly about roughly 8-4.
i think i had Mosley by one round in what was a very disapointing fight and neither fighter looked good.
I watched the fight with about 20 people and it was split evenly. All I know is that the majority of ringside writers had Mosley winning.
