We have seen fights before with big size difference between the opposing boxers, why so many people are protesting the Hoya-PAC fight from happening due to the big size difference?

Here's one example of massive size difference.

_______ Nikolay Valuev __ Ruslan Chagaev __ Difference
    ___Height: 7' 0" _________ 6' 1" ___________ 11"
    Weigh-In: 319 lbs. _______ 229 lbs. _________ 90 lbs.

Chagaev defeated the giant Valuev in their fight last April 14, 2007.

Size really is just one advantage/factor. There are other factors in a fight.

    _______ DELAHOYA ____ PACQUIAO ___ Difference
    __Height: 5' 10 1/2" ____ 5' 6 1/2" _____ 4"
    Weigh-In: 147 lbs. ______ 140 lbs. _____ 7 lbs.

DelaHoya fought the 5'6" Pernell Whitaker and the 5' 6 1/2" Hector Camacho before, why Hoya can't fight the 5' 6 1/2" Pacquiao now?

I don't see the size difference as a stumbling block for this fight from happening. If both parties can agree on 147 lbs. catch weight then I think the fight is a GO.

DelaHoya already signifies that he's willing to go down to 147 to fight PAC.

Still it's a dangerous move, two weight divisions up for one megafight considering Pac was a 105 fighter.

I agree, it's a very dangerous fight for PAC but the size difference didn't deter him from challenging the bigger DelaHoya.

Props to PAC for being so brave and gutsy.

    5'5", 140 lbs Henry Armstrong

fought 5'11", 145 lbs 22 yrs old Sugar ray Robinson & was not Koed by The GOAT.(HA was 31 yrs old)

Fought 5'7", 154 lbs Middleweight Champ Ceferino Garcia to a Draw.

Pac's 5'6 1/2" and 146 lbs(maybe more up to 149lbs) of fast twitch Muscles coming into the fight against 35 yrs old, 5'10", slow now DLH who will be coming in maybe around 160 lbs. Pac has more Chance of winning here.

Oh there is no doubt that Pac deserves props, no doubt about it at all but it's a bit over the line considering he has far more options at 135 and 140. But as we discussed before if it turns out to be true that Pac plans to retire soon then a farewell big-money fight should be expected, not to forget that it's dangerous as well.
