"I don't know how popular Cotto can become. I don't know if he can surpass the popularity of a [Felix] Trinidad. Not yet, I don't think. It all depends on the opponent," De La Hoya said. "I saw a lot of vulnerability in Cotto the other night, a lot of things that I can take advantage of. Even more than usual. I saw a whole bunch of things I would have done differently than Shane." "I noticed Cotto doesn't like pressure. When Shane pressed him, he backed off. And when Shane was on his toes and used his jab, Cotto was completely locked up. He relies too heavily on his left hook, because his right hand is not that impressive. And when you hit him to the body, he bends down and he's wide open for uppercuts," What do you guys think about this? How accurate is Hoya's assesment?
On the real, he is 100% CORRECT imo. As a Floyd fan I was more concerned with Cotto before this fight then I was after. he makes a lot of mistakes that taller or younger fighters would be able to take advantage of.
Everyone sees flaws in Cotto......................until he gets in the ring with them and BREAKS THEM DOWN.
Hoya is just trying to get a fight he doesn't deserve. He's not gonna do anything better than Mosley did.
Cotto's right hand print is still on Mosleys face since Saturaday....his right hand is not impressive?????
come on now mosley is an atg veteran of the game .... he couldn't exploit these supposed weaknesses ! No fighter is perfect
Sounds to me like Hoya is describing himself instead of Cotto, Doesn't like pressure, relies to much on his left hook, locked up when his opponent was on his toes.
Exactly.. so his whole 'I would of done things differently' attitude needs to go.. I personally don't think he's good enough to comment like that.. This is a fighter that owned him 2wice..
mosley is superior to dlh he proved it twice dlh can fughedaboutit cotto will destroy him to the body hoya has no legs he can't move in there cotto will play with him !
