Boom is making my head spin. :nut It might be time for another pot of coffee..

Gonzalez doesn't get KTFO every time he steps up...that's just...GRR!

He was a **** hair away from capping off that run you mentioned with a win over a pre-trilogy (so close enough to prime) Israel Vazquez, FFS!

Gonzalez can hang with just about anybody in his weight range. He can get outboxed for long stretches, and he can get knocked out by anyone with good power who catches him clean, but he's ALWAYS dangerous...for anybody. :deal

Too Sharp was already on his way out and the Montiel win is only a big win now considered after how his career has played out. Not exactly a big win at the moment kind of thing.

Damn. Really wanted to see Hasegawa get the W there but that was a hell of a shot from Jhonny. Great stuff from Nishioka and Aoh.

Stop it!!!! You're making me stamp my feet like a little kid and scare the downstairs neighbors!!! Unlike me they probably haven't had a whole pot of coffee yet while watching Japanese boxing!!!

Think of the neighbors, Boom. Please.

    Let's just leave it at:

Hasegawa and Gonzalez are both great fighters (and viable featherweights). The better man today won.

Nope. Still a big win nonetheless just like it is with him KO'ing Hasegawa right now and beating Montiel was a big win even back then. Even if the majority of people didn't know who Montiel was. People in the know knew he was a good fighter and that, that was a good win.

You are stretching it IB. Burgos accomplished nothing. He may have had a good string of wins over journyman and gatekeepers but he made no mark in the division at all.

Honzumi is done at feather at the elite level. Id like him to go back down to 122 and see how he can handle stuff there but in a division with Gamboa and Lopez...no way baby is he reaching the top :smoke

I guess its how you want to perceive it as then.

So which of RJJ's win do you think is greater...RJJ's win over Ruiz or RJJ's win over BHOP?

That's not a good analogy. It's not like Gonzalez gained 30 pounds and beat Berto.

    Thats not the point.

One win is considered great because it was a spur the moment kind of thing.
The other is only considered a great win because the other fighter turned out to be a huge success.

you win $1 million from the lottery right now
    or
your stock portfolio rises up to $1 million in 5 years?

Which is likely to be a bigger moment for you?

(sigh) I'm tired. Okay obviously, I felt at that moment when he beat Montiel that was a good win. You didn't feel that way apparently. Now, he beats Hasegawa, I feel this is a good win as well. In my eyes, at the moment that it happened, they both were good wins. So, there we go we agree to disagree. :good

Well I didnt think you felt that way then. I really thought nothing of the Montiel win. My impression after seeing the fight was that neither deserved to win and Montiel was too small for bantam. Jhonny moved up a division not long after this fight and Montiel moved back down.

get some rest...DD a lot of good boxing on tonight.
