this is like the 3rd time this week that a thread was made to acknowledge his underratedness but I agree very underrated, most underrated debatable imo
he is one of the elites that few has even heard of, so he should fight at least 2 or 3 times in the states to introduce himself, and it should be big fights. he has expressed his interest to get the **** out of japan for a few fights, why not do it now? he is japan, or asia's hidden gem
sorry mate, don't come on the General very often!!!!!! Just think he was renowned as 'feather fisted' (clearly not true) and has been dispatching opponents the same way as JuanMa and getting no credit. I think Hasegawa should fight Penelosa next is Gerry is coming out of retirement and going back to Bantam. If not, King Kong or Montiel. Hasegawa has the tools to be top 10 p4p, just annoys me how everyone raves over Donaire and Hasegawa has done so much more over the past year. Donaire's win over Darchinyan is, in the words of Bruno, 'so 2007'
Hasegawa has already beaten a top guy -Veeraphol - to take the title in the first place. Veeraphol is as good as it gets below super bantam. A master boxer with a massive workrate. Hozumi took the title off him in a classic, and knocked the ageing Thai out in the rematch. I think he's had some truly solid opponents since, has refined his skills, and all he needs is a rival champ like Moreno perhaps in a unification. So Hozumi showed the potential for greatness dethroning a fearsome Thai, and can really fulfil it by unifying against the quality WBA holder Moreno. I wonder if Hozumi is gunning for the early KOs because he might be tight at the weight and doesn't want to go the distance.
I don't think he's underated. I think he was underated. He seems to have blown up this week. I've been muttering about him for a couple of years now, seems like everyone is showing an interest now. Hugely improved fighter, to be fair.
In fairness, his punching has improved vastly. I think he had a bit of a balance issue. He looks so set now, but has remained fluid.
McGrain I've also been raving about him for a while, as I previously said didn't realise everyone else had been hyping him this week!!! Don't think he's going for the early K.O because he's struggling at the weight at someone else said. He's clearly a 'punch-picker', just that he sets his feet properly now (as McGrain also touched upon); that, coupled with his accuracy and speed is adding up to be devastating. yep, Moreno seems a good choice, I still think Penelosa fits the bill. mcGrain isn't it you who agreed with me a while ago that Hasegawa would stop Darchinyan? I stand by that comment now and I'm a big Vic fan. Maybe Donaire vs Hasegawa in a years time????
Donaire is drained at one-one-two.He dropped down remember. He started at 118 where he is healthier and faster his legs are shot at 112.So definitely in Japan? :think
