Don’t worry, we’ll see him again. He’s the Dave Allen of the forum. 10+ Ls but keeps coming back.

Allen proved once again tonight that he isn't world level.
His overhand right makes Chisora look sharp.
But to be fair he is a tough *******.
He took loads of clean shots and would have no doubt took many more if it weren't for his corner rightly throwing in the towel.
Good job he didn't have Ben Davidson in there tonight- he'd probably be in a coma now

It played out how we expected it to. After throwing about 15 punches in round 1 that all missed other than a soft jab.

He took one hellacious beating for 2 rounds, and has to thank Jamie Moore for saving him from himself. Didn’t look at all mobile enough to survive in there. Shelling up on the ropes as Hrgovic whaled away at him picking his shots at will showed a complete inability to fight to any gameplan. Looks like he froze in there once he realised he was out of his depth.

The trilogy now vs Bosh must be on.

Just caught up with this, clocking up the stoppage defeats now, is Allen. People say about Wardley never fighting again, we've seen Allen leave the ring on a stretcher before and go on to have 10+ more fights with pretty zero questioning.

I don’t get why so many people are mad, anyone expecting Dave to be competitive in this fight doesn’t have a clue about boxing. Dave Allen struggled with Jonny Fisher ffs, Makmoody outboxed him and punched his head off, a primitive Neanderthal who outboxes nobody. Dave has too many enablers and fools around him, but fair play he’s not a fool himself as he’s become a very wealthy journeyman. He enjoys being lazy and being seen as a wasted talent it’s his claim to fame

Hgrovic is accurate and was teeing off on Allen, was the fight a lot of people knew it would turn out to be.

Lucky he was pulled out he was going to get seriously hurt.

I hope he's wealthy, because most of his self-to-camera videos making him popular on TikTok are about how little he's made. He might have a nice house and some residual investment but he's still a young man to survive off that for another 40+ years.

I hope for his sake he has invested in a few houses in the Doncaster area and can live off the rental income for the rest of his days, I think for a punditry media gig he’ll have to tone down the honesty which is a sad thing to say and why the talk sport circuit cannot be trusted. Overall for an area level fighter, which in my opinion he is, he’s hit the absolute jackpot. There will be guys that have won European and even world titles that have made less than him.

He could probably make a side income from the non-aligned punditry circuit (Froch etc, and they seem to get on well so this wouldn't surprise me at all). He won't get regular bookings with DAZN or Sky because of his slow delivery style and honesty but for YouTube and TikTok where you can slice and dice stuff (and speed up the video) he's a breath of fresh air.

Hey, all this "he's made little" stuff, can you imagine how much he'd have made if he was a welterweight or something? He's made an incredible amount of money for the ability and application he's put in, you've got guys living the life and earning a fraction of what he's made. He's made more than Gavin Gwynne, more than Maxi Hughes, more than a lot of guys that have had to show discipline for years of their lives while working jobs.

The joy of heavyweight boxing is you don't need to make weight, just manage it. Allen has done well at a level most boxers would dream of reaching whether he put the proper effort in or not. Blowing up the Johnny Fisher hype train was probably his career highlight - and to be honest if we didn't have this constant push for fighters to have an "0" or be chasing some alphabet intercontinental title rather than area or British level by default, he'd probably have had a sound enough career and made far less money.

I wonder how much Hrgovic got paid? Either way he must have been laughing all the way to the bank for such a ridiculous mismatch. His warm up in the dressing room was a lot harder than the actual 'fight'.

Never saw the fight. That will do Allen now, retire please before the effects of this brutal sport start taking over. Good personality and will do well in some form of media/punditry if he plays his card right.

Its time Dave Allen, hang the gloves up.

Think he’ll have done ok-his career was pretty much over not so long back, then he’s had the 2 fisher fights (were they Saudi cards?) plus makmudov and now hgrovic not a bad little bonus run really for a guy who was completely off radar
Surely there was a few quid in those last few fights?

Still makes me chuckle when I think of the 2nd bosh fight -Eddie leaves fisher sulking in defeat and moves into the Dave Allen corner announcing that they are working together again and there’s some big fights ahead!

No idea why he's been matched the way he has at times. He's a solid domestic level puncher with a basic style and that about it.
Ortiz, Whyte, Hrg, Yoka just an excuse for someone to punch holes in him. He's 34 now, he's not got long left really.
Needs to pick his fights carefully - maybe aim for a British title shot then see if he can get a pay day and call it quits.
