The problem is, Hrgovic has about a 7-8 round gas tank... So even if it sees the final bell he's gotta be WAY up early on, which he realistically won't be. Dubois ain't too special on cards either, but DDD decision or stoppage are more likely than the opposite - Hrgovic just isn't powerful enough to stop contenders and doesn't have the stamina to carry it through, and IMHO.
Maybe he could've turned it around... If he magically found stamina, or Dubois miraculously gassed even harder than Hrgovic did and does. IMHO Hrgovic has to be way up early rounds to get decisions with how poor his stamina is and how many rounds he'll hemorrhage later on against anyone decent. Dubois certainly has limitations - I just don't think Hrgovic is good enough in any sense to expose them... Filip has the chin to see the finish line, but not the power to stop anyone decent and not the stamina to beat anyone decent on points - unlike someone like Joyce (with a similarly great chin) he can't use that chin to march through guys and stop them because he doesn't have anywhere near the power that Joyce does.
I was one of the few here who predicted a Dubois win that night. Most of it was built upon Dubois´ decent body work, and the fact that Hrgovic gasses after 4 rounds, which he does. I genuinely believe that Joyce would have won even without the blatant cheating. He will always outwork Hrgovic in the later rounds, and Hrgovic will always loose power after the midway point. The moment his stamina drops, he starts throwing mainly arm punches.
Hrgovic vs Bakole would be interesting. I think it comes down to Bakole's chin. Bakole is fairly hittable and Hrgovic's best skill by a mile is accuracy in his right hand. How does Bakole hold up to being hit by Hrgovic over and over? On the other hand, Hrgovic is real durable, but he's slow on his feet. Being slow on your feet against Bakole is not the thing to be.
Hrgovic has enough power to stop Bakole, whose chin is overrated. However Hrgovic has **** poor stamina, and Bakole is a vicious body puncher. I swear he even hurt Parker before getting stopped.
I think he'd hurt Parker's nose. For a second there watching it, I thought Bakole might well pull it off.
It won't happen, he's not a Brit who gets plenty of opportunities, Dubois is Warren's protégé and we could soon see him fighting for the title again...
