Hrgovic has the best chin in the Heavyweight division and the least power

I remember the last guy whose chin everyone was raving about. Started calling the dude The Juggernaut and saying his chin was made out of adamantium. Didn't take long before that narrative got brutally debunked.

The name of the game is to hit and not get hit. It won't be long for Hrgovic if he continues to use his face as his main form of defense.

Hrgovic's chin goes without saying, its been on full display in multiple fights. Probably the best in the division atm, but who knows how long that will last looking at how much he gets hit.

But regarding his power, its not great for a guy his size but like all heavyweights at this level he still has decent power. It comes down to how he sets up and throws his shots.

He doesn't have the explosive one punch power some guys have, but he could definitely be more heavy handed if he mixed things up a bit. Power is mix of timing, weight, technique, speed, placement etc. And Hrgovic looks lazy in the way he puts his shots out there to score without putting too much into them.

But like a lot of the "weak" punchers in the division I don't doubt that if he worked on it he could be displaying more power in his bouts.

Think about "non-punchers" like Usyk, Fury, Parker, who all can show more power when they mix it up like in Wilder vs Fury 1 compared to the second fight or how Usyk ran over Dubois, or how Parker KO'd Bakole with a single punch.

I've been telling people on here since before Hrgovic turned pro that he has an iron chin. How did I know? Because I've been following him since the amateurs and have seen him demonstrate that iron chin against big/huge punchers and he's one of the few SHWs who has never been knocked out, stopped or even dropped and he fought most of the top guys and many of the guys who knocked out of stopped other top HWs and future top/world class pro HWs

Big Joe Joyce has an iron chin too but, unlike Hrgovic, he was actually dropped and stopped a few times in the amateurs

He's also sparred murderous/massive punchers like Wlad, The Dosser, Haye, Dubois among others and none of them could drop him either

But yes, his chin is going to crack eventually as he's been in a lot of wars and taken a lot of punishment and I mean even in the amateurs

Here's an 18 y/o version of him having a war in the WSB with a very big puncher who was 12 years his senior

You can see his chin on display and his big heart and fighting spirit too. But that being said, I don't think his heart is truly in the game like it used to be. He's seemed jaded and disillusioned for a number of years to me which is concerning for him moving forwards

He actually got hurt a bit right at the end of the fight but it was from a sequence of huge shots in quick succession and as said he was a skinny 18 y/o here and the fight had been fought at a high pace and he was facing a very big puncher who applied relentless pressure from start to finish so it was an impressive display of punch resistance

Based on how Hrgovic reacted to Adeleye's power, Wardley has a better chin than I thought. He also took big left hooks and was never hurt. Didn't get caught with perfectly timed counters like Hrgovic though.

TBH, it looked like Big D got scared after he got the cut.

I think this is about Fil's ceiling. Other than people telling me he's fantastic, I just don't see it. It's so bad the commentary team is not even half wrong about his terrible posture and footwork game.

What is really crazy is how much **** Wilder got while this jabroni gets called "talented" and "skilled".

Give me a break. Jamooks who have seen Wilder's kinematic chains and still question his power tend to be the same jamooks who tell me Hrgovic ain't shitty. All I know is you silly billies don't even understand basic physics let alone boxing.

Fabio has a good chin for sure.

I think Adeleye might even hit harder since hooking up with Booth though as he weighs 240 now and he says himself that his body has undergone a transformation since working with him. His last 2 fights prior to facing Hrgovic were ended or effectively ended with single left hooks (albeit one was on the break) so that possibly suggests he does

    And commitment.

Hrgovic throws almost as if he's afraid to take the risk... Which he shouldn't given his chin.

At the end of the day, if he's not going to throw hard he should be getting some mass off and fixing that awful gas tank.
