To be fair, Molina is one of those oh so rare fighters whose prime only lased one fight. Prior to facing Bootleg Dorticos he'd been iced in a round x 2. However, all the stars aligned for him and everything came together for the Bootleg Dorticos fight. The Molina who fought Bootleg Dorticos had fists of iron and a chin forged out of an even more sturdy substance and I genuinely believe that version of him would defeat any HW in history other than Bootleg Dorticos.
Same as me, Pimp. Wilder pulled out the draw with the 12th round KO. People just can't add very well if they think Fury won outright. He WAS winning...until the last round.
Whyte/Hrgovic next. If Whyte has the balls to get into the ring with him. If he shows up in pathetic shape again he gets taken out inside 5 rounds.
Hrgovic fought an ugly, awkward fight with Molina where the referee was borderline negligent with how poorly a job he did. I’m not sure if it actually proved anything except that Hrgovic has something of a chin by taking a couple wild windmill rights from Molina and the fact Molina needs to retire. Not sure how anyone can conclude Hrgovic is ready for a title shot after that mess.
Im not gonna say he beats wilder because i dont he can . molina landed right hands that wilder can land even harder. I will say that i expected better from hrgovic . but i liked how he used jab controlled distance and avoided some right hands . his power is real . he is 27 give it one more year let him develop a bit more then we will see what's up Im not gonna say he is special because i didn't see anything special in reality tonight. However i did see potential. With his jab ..size youth and power . he definitely has potential. Ill keep a closer eye on him from now on.
Molina is one of the most heartless yet gutsy fighters I've seen of late. He's always complaining about back of the head shots and looking for ways out of a fight, then gets up and starts causing guys all sorts of problems. Weird guy. Hrgovic looked stiff and hittable tonight, and based on this performance would get beaten by most of the top guys in the division. He's like a stiffer version of Vitali, if that's even possible.
Molina was whining about rabbit shots all night despite most of them seeming to land on the side of the head as he was turning his head away or ducking below waist level. Hrgovic is a big, strong dude who hits very hard with the right hand, and who despite being very basic and supposedly being as slow as a disabled tortoise has zero problems landing with consistency with it against seemingly everyone or almost everyone he's faced amateur and pro, and he appears to have an iron jaw too - according to him he's never been down in over 100 amateur fights and that is something which is very rare for any SHW, especially one who's mixed in the kind of company he has. That being said, I'm not convinced Pedro Diaz is the right fit for him, because Hrgovic possesses the physical tools and intangibles to be even better than he is and a top trainer really should be able to help him develop them and reach his maximum potential.
I don't think Molina is shot, he's never been particularly good. Only two years ago he had a good fight with Breazeale who's top-10 apparently.
Problem is there are lots of guys good enough for title shots Hrgovic being one of a long list but with only one title holder willing to fight, its going to be a long wait. I personally hope AJ has to vacate 1 or two belts so we can see some good matchups Hrgovic, joyce, miller, parker, hunter, povetkin, pulev, usyk, fury, ruiz, chisora, whyte all good enough to be title contenders but its a long que for the ones at the back.
