If Fury-Usyk doesn't happen or gets scheduled for late 2024 Usyk will have to face another mandatory and this one will be Filip. If so, he will have the chance and will be a hard opponent. I can't tell if he will win, but nobody is unbeatable, and so is Usyk, that doesn't make him less great. Few had the chance to ever face the guys that can beat them, that's it. Whatever the case is, Filip has to face only top 20 opponents from now on.

Hrgovic has one win at the top level, against Chang, which was life and death. He can talk all he likes about Usyk but it's entirely up to Usyk whether or not he fight Hrgovic. Hrgovic has in no way earned a fight with Usyk.

He should have faced only top 20 for a few years now.

Actually, Usyk doesnt have a say - because Hrgovic will be mandatory challenger - if Usyk declines, he gives up the belt. How not? he beat Zhang who is currently also mandatory and interim champ, and has been rejected in fight by entire top 15 (except Yoka and Zhang) on IBF ladder. He has all the rights.

I'm surprised more people aren't willing to fight Hrgovic after how he struggled against Zhang, but sadly I'm a lot less excited about the division than I was 5 years ago- all of the great prospects back then have either struggled or lost, and when a blown up 36 year-old Cruiserweight is widely regarded as the best in the division, that tells you all you need to know.

Yeah, but if he gives up that belt I won't care. Will you? "Usyk ducked Hrgovic" sounds absolutely ridiculous. Usyk is bigger than the abc nonsense and has established himself at such a level that anyone but an abc thinking Hrgovic is a "mandatory" anything is ridiculous. Usyk is levels up above Hrgovic.

Him vs Sanchez would be a great fight because of their contrastic amateur record against common opponents. Filip is, one could say, and yet-to-be-faced demon from Frank's pre-pro days.

I reckon he would beat the likes of Jalolov or Makhmudov, let alone Anderson or Ajagba.

People are sleeping on this guy a bit after the Zhang performance but it looks better in hindsite after the Joyce stoppage. I can't really see anyone outside the top 5 beating him.

I agree, but where are all those opponents (except Anderson) when IBF went thru twicie down the list to find him oponent. Anderson called him out, if somehow Fury-Usyk happens, Hrgovic should answer.

Usyk ditching the belt would mean Hrgovic-Wilder for IBF belt, great fight. Why would he not answer to mandatories, it is a duty of champion to defend against number 1 ranked opponents. You sound like Fury fanboy, champion who guards his belt. That ABC mandatory is what got Usyk to fight AJ, what the hell are you talking about. That we will see in December.

It is actually funny - he is called exposed hypejob who struggled against 40y old man. Man is undefeated, easy prey, holding number 1 IBF spot, easy rank, easy money, easy mandatory shot at Usyk - just fight the man.

I dont agree with you, I think Wilder and Fury destroyed boxing. People say Klitchko era was the worst, but at least the man fought.

Yes because Usyk has never fought a sleepwalker before, and may not know how.

Good fight and good defence for Uysk after Dubios.
