Hrgovic puts his career on the line to fight nobody, if he loses, that is it for him. Real TOP-G.

He beat Zhang, who gassed horribly in the second half of the fight. You all ride zhangs dick when he blasted Joyce but **** on Hrgovic who out punched him. Get a life.

I agree w/ your reply (except for one minor difference in degree). You're spot on that the EE fighters need to be as proactive as they can be. The difference in degree is w/ Fury. I'm not as hard on him as you and many others. Now don't get me wrong, I've been irritated by his antics with respect to Usyk. Is it all based on Suadi $? Perhaps. Here's a point and I have no idea what your take on this is. I think Fury's battle w/ mental illness is/was real. Why would you let yourself go that badly just to fake a mental illness story line for sympathy?? I like a good conspiracy theory, but that's not a good example. I'll also state that that's not an excuse to gum up any future negotiations w/ Usyk.

Case #1 (one of my & others standard). The AJ-Wilder saga. That bout never happened when it would've been huge. Fans have been debating who was most at fault for many years. I doubt we will ever know the complete truth. People seem to forget Wilder-Whyte should've been made but it wasn't. So, I'm more annoyed with the HW div. overall lack of activity among the top 5-10 than with any one particular boxer. Still hope Fury-Usyk and AJ-Wilder happens. But these guys can't keep stalling - Father Time is undefeated !

    >>> If Filip wins who might be his next likely opponent? Does he need to do much more to get a title shot?

It changed, but how much. Eastern Europeans are wide term, Russians and Ukrainians are accepted - but as journeyman, man being fed - and then comes Usyk as mandatory and defeats biggest name in boxing, twice. Still dissrespected. The lowest tier of eastern europeans are the balkans, nobody cares about balkans, even balkan people. Football is everything here. It is the way of the world.

Hrgovic passing McKean would mean attacking Usyk in December if Fury fight doesnt happen. He could call Wilder fight, but I doubt it happens.

For risking everything by figithing a bum. We have champions that guard their belt refusing to fight any real contenders. Are you saying they are the top Gs? Wilder, Fury?

Zhang was a defeated and Joyce risked it all against a bum, he a G, not Zhang

    you are a joke

Yeah he's been avoided, he was seen as too high risk for too little reward and that's not necessarily his fault or either his promoters.

I don't think Matchroom or the Saulerland's sabotaged him, Hrgovic was lucky such big promoters wanted him, he only got a Bronze in Rio, Joyce the silver medallist signed with David Haye and only signed with Warren because he risked fighting Dubois and the gold medallist signed with Richard Schaeffer. It could of been a lot worse for Hrgovic, just look at Dychko who's also an Olympic bronze medallist and who's career has gone nowhere.

Hrgovic's promoters despite his lack of drawing power have secured him a mandatory title shot before Joyce or Yoka. Not exactly a terrible job considering he isn't a draw. In reality this is the only way he's ever getting a title shot, money drives boxing and so no way a champion will fight a risky opponent who brings no money.

Yes if he loses to McKean he's back to square one but then that's his fault and isn't exactly unique. You think Yoka's career is going anywhere right now, he's on the trash heap and not getting a title shot ever. Stop blaming Hrgovic's lack of progress on his nationality, Wlad and Vitali lost both EE fighters, both got multiple chances, especially Wlad. If Hrgovic's career goes nowhere after a loss to McKean it isn't down to his nationality it's down to the fact he wasn't good enough.

Yeah he's not thought of too highly right now on this forum, but that wasn't always the case, he came from the Rio games and for some time on here between the Mansour and Booker fights he was seen on here as the best prospect from the Rio games ahead of Joyce and Yoka. He was regularly praised on here with multiple threads with people saying he was the top prospect at heavyweight and even I agreed at the time with that assessment of him. But then he didn't fight for ages and came back and according to some looked bad vs Radonjic took another extended break and again looked lack lustre in his next fight. Then we had the Zhang fight where he was the favourite by some margin and again he looked bad. His poor standing now is due to his inactivity and his poor performances, pure and simple, nothing to do with his nationality.

He could of rematched Zhang but chose not too, did nothing but wait for Usyk to be free for a title shot while Zhang instead took a big risk and fought Joyce and reaped the rewards. Again Hrgovic has happily been inactive for too long with a year between fights, it's inactivity that's killing his career. I'm happy he's fighting McKean but he should of already fought after the Zhang fight a year ago. So when you say he didn't sit on his mandatory that's BS, that's exactly what he did, waiting for Usyk to be free for a year fighting nobody and when it was clear it wasn't happening only then took a fight. Look at Joyce in comparison could of done the same but after winning the WBO interim title one month after Hrgovic/Zhang he made the Zhang fight a fight Hrgovic should have taken but was happy to sit on his mandatory for a year and wait for a title shot.

Yep, I can see where you are coming from re: Fury. But for me personally, the days of giving him the benefit of the doubt have passed. Both he and Wilder are a bit of a personification of boxing as a sport losing its profile among mainstream (and emerging) sports fans. I think sports fans follow sport for sport, not for antics and media talk. Fortunately, boxing as a sport has it's own unique attributes which make it entertaining, and its unique history to add context. But it shoots itself in the foot again and again, be it the current Fury drag on things, or the sanctioning bodies being what they are, etc, etc. My own opinion is the bottom line is that people don't want to wait a year, a whole year, or more between peak HW fights. I spend most my time in North East Asia ... the population is vast there to say the least, and theoretically boxing could be drawing in literally 10s of millions new fans, and potential future participants, but it's not ... because of problems with the product, ie. Fury's messing around etc. Expand the boxing market into NE Asia and fighters like Hrgovic, Dykcho and no end of lower ranked and journeymen could be pushing into that market for good money. Heading East from E.E. rather than just west.

Not sure what that proves. That video is dated April 17th. Zhang beat Joyce on April 15th. Zhang was widely known to be tied into a rematch clause that many expected Joyce to activate. Which he did. So ...

Think you should take a break
