Ortiz was a fossil. You know it. I know it. Everyone knows it. He was archaic. Borderline decayed dust.

We all agree that Hrgvic sucks, but all he has to do is stick a jab in Ruiz's face and call it a night. He's 6'6 wheras Ruiz is a plodder. Zhang is 6 foot 7, has arguably quicker feet and FAR more power than Ruiz. Zhang is a bigger threat to the top 10 than Ruiz. The fact that aj lost says more about aj than it does Ruiz. He is extremely overrated. Belts mean nothing without proper context

 

Ruiz has a good chin. He also has quick hands. If Zhangs counters caused him trouble, Ruiz definitely will.

Ruiz would easily outbox Zhang.

 

He couldn't even outbox Ortiz ffs he relied on the knockdowns to edge it. Let me remind you that Ortiz was struggling in a pure boxing sense against bum Charles Martin before eventually KOing him.

Ruiz sucks and would get kept at the end of a jab. He's nowhere near as massive as Zhang nor does he have a 3rd of the power. He's even slower than Zhang in terms of mobility.

Ruiz and Zhang fought as amateurs. Zhang easily won. I think he'd still have very good chances to KO Ruiz today.

He's not KOing Ortiz. Ortiz has a chin from the gods. Amateur means nothing.

Unless Hrgovic improves massively from his last performance, he'll get UD.

He only just scraped a win against Zhang who gassed out late which is why he lost.

Ruiz will throw a higher volume of punches.

 

That chin of the gods came in clutch during his fight with a senile Chris Arreola. Wait a minute, Ruiz got dropped and even got wobbled again in the same round

 

But he's also taken monster shots and shrugged them off. He took a nasty uppercut from Joshua and got up as if he wasn't hurt. He took big shots vs Joshua and Ortiz and was barely knocked.

I think the Arreola fight was him out of form and out of shape due to covid and losing a lot of weight.

 

Ruiz doesn't seem to approach boxing seriously. He made the big payday with Joshua and is now a legend in Mexico for being the first Mexican heavy champ, so won't be the first, nor the last case of talent got ruined because of the sweet life. But in case he decides to fight, he should go against Wilder as the better opponent and the bigger money.

 

The reality is many boxers look great until they start getting hit back, same with Hrgovic. He didn't look great vs Zhang and only narrowly won on my card 114-113 due to Zhang gassing due to old age.

Zhang is unproven, Ruiz is on another level.
