I've been flowing this heavyweight prospect, and I think he's a future champion Hrgovic's hand speed seems to have increased since his amateur days. He looks to be training more for speed/movement /flexibility over bulk muscles, a that's a good thing because he already hits hard. Recently he was sparring with English slugger Daniel Dubois, perhaps the best puncher in the UK, who recently floored Joshua. To view his recent gym clips, see below. https://www.facebook.com/Filipboxing/ Hrgovic faces 10-4 Tim Little next. I hope it goes three rounds so we can get a better look at his skills, but I tend to doubt it.
Ring Magazine reported it, and they are good as a source. What makes you think it was false? As for his power, watch his films. I don't care if he's early in his career, the way he moves people and the way they react when he hits them is impressive. But enough on Dubois, I had a thread on him a few weeks ago.
Recently floored Joshua? You have recently become Mr Fake news of the forum....what's up? Lol Dubois has what 7 fights against n less than sub level. Is he the top puncher? If you say so. I would also disagree with what he's working on BC he's not overly hard hitting and punches in a Vitali Klitchko like manner which is arm punching but he's not Vitali.
Yes, that is what Ring Magazine says. Are you calling them a fraud? Better yet here's the link, go to the 4:31 mark to hear more details. This content is protected Another source, which makes it three including Ring Magazine: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/boxing/2017/06/03/meet-daniel-dubois-teenage-heavyweight-dropped-anthony-joshua/ I've been watching heavyweight boxing for over 30 years and know a puncher when I see one. Dubois is an A+ natural puncher, who lands with a thud. One finishing shot look like dynamite exploded in his opponents face, another blow threw his opponent backward on to the canvas. Watch and judge for yourself. I think that is part of the problem, people here aren't watching. Next to Hrgovic and perhaps Dychko, Dubious ( Age 20 ) could be the third best of the young guns. Above Joyce and Yoka in 2 years time.
You're high on hrgovic you think he can be "the champ" in a few years or just a belt holder like wilder?
Let me put it to you this way. Back in 1996, I saw a 20 years old competing with grown men in the Olympics. I couldn't even produce his name correctly, but he impressed me winning the super heavyweight gold medal. Shortly after that, he went professional; I thought he had the tools to become an all-time great after just a few professional fights. As you might have imagined, I was grilled by some historians and boxing writers that I know, but after 20 years, some came back to me and could not believe my forecast. The fighters name was Wladimir Klitschko. And there is a poster or two on this forum who can back this up ( Lance ) this prediction. Unfortunately, Hrgovic was robbed of early fame in the Rio Olympics, he beat Yoka 2-1 in rounds, but lost the decision. Odd, you can't find this fight on youtube anymore. It was taken down the day after it happened but some of Yoka's other fights from the Olympics remained. I believe Hrgovic is the best heavyweight to turn professional since Wladimir Klitschko. Why? He was battle-tested in the very professional like world series of boxing vs. the best several times. Outside of excellent size, long arms, good speed, and power, he's got an A+ chin and the mindset of an old-school fighter. You hit him; he attacks back. He's a fluid athlete like an in shape and focused Andrew Golota but with Vitali's Klitschko's chin. Hrgovic took direct bombs from punchers in the amateurs, and hardly blinked. One of the few turning pro worth note who was never stopped. That's what I say A+ chin. While Hirgovic doesn't hit quite as hard as Wlad, he hits harder than most and has an inside game ( Body shots, and Uppercut's ) to complement his outside game. I think he's much better than Wilder and will win a belt, likely take the #1 spot Ring Magazine's top fight by 2021. I might miss here, but that's what I think, and I'm not too afraid to go way out there on a limb and say it.
Thanks for the excellent assessment and confident prediction. Speaks volumes. For the record while I don't know him or have seen him fight, I felt as you did about Wlad following the Olympics of 96. He looked special to me, so if you have same feeling here I will be following this career closely. Thanks
Tom Little seems sounds as a pound. Top bloke. But I agree with the OP that Hrgovic looks the business - power, variety, speed . To me he's the best HW prospect by far at the moment. Hope he doesn't beat up Little too badly.
Hrgovic is a beast. I hope Little doesn't get ****ed up. I agree that he seems a good dude. That fight is enough to make that card interesting to me.
This guy lost to the awful Joe Joyce. I just watched that fight and it looked like two Jim Braddocks swotting each other. Doubois pans the both of them clean out.
