Good video Rummy. And I agree with the critiques of Hrgovic not fully utilizing his jab and being trigger happy with the right hand. I'd still like to Joyce/Whyte tbh and Hrgovic vs. the winner of Bakole/Ajagba or maybe Kabayel.
When I saw Hrgovic letting that right hand fly in the early rounds, I was convinced he was going to tire like he did against Dubois. Fair Play to him for actually going the full 10 against a slow but persistent Joyce and even winning the late rounds.
He's only had power against bums. I've never understood why people painted Hrgovic as some power punching monster when he landed clean on Zhang and Dubois over and over and couldn't hurt either of them at all.
In Hrgovic defense he does not shy away from a slugfest. There are some fun fights to be made with him.
Even when he does use the jab to set up the right, he usually doesn't commit to it the way it seems he could/should.
I actually think he has very good power. Not elite level, but still very good. Joyce and Dubois can both take a good shot.
I also was under the impression that Hrgovic was starting to fade similar to how he did against Dubois. He kept his composure, though.
There are definitely some interesting fights for him, and his fights usually are a fun watch. He'll definitely get more opportunities, even if he suffers another loss or two along the way.
Agreed on the lack of jab. He's only ever used the left to measure for the right or to frame to create space to land the right or pull down the guard of an opponent to land the right. Hrgovic is very much a one trick pony. His power clearly isn't that good at the top level, Joyce never really looked hurt. But power isn't everything if he can add other things to his game. But on the positive side, Hrgovic showed he could hang in there when things got tough. He was happy to sit on the ropes and absorb shots from Joyce and then pick spots to unload and steal rounds. Maybe they took notes from how Chisora did the same against Joyce. You can't fight at Joyce's pace and like Chisora, Hrgovic has the chin to hang in there and take punishment if required. Joyce right now looks like a gatekeeper. He'll always be entertaining because he's so easy to hit and will throw a lot and as a Brit he has the advantage of British fans who will pay simply to watch a good fight. So I doubt he's done, he could still make good money as a gatekeeper.
