Hrgovic was a total disappointment.

Zhang didn't throw nearly enough shots down the stretch. The last two rounds, he gave it away with his lack of output. Zhang looked in great shape for him. He just didn't have enough left in the tank to even compete in rounds 11 and 12.

 

I was disappointed with the end result, but I enjoyed the fight. I was rooting for Zhang the whole time and was ecstatic when it looked like he could pull off the upset. I don't know why but ever since I started really following boxing last year, this guy has endeared himself to me. I'm not upset with the end decision at all. I had him winning, but I definitely saw the case for Hrgovic too, albeit not by as wide a margin as one of those cards said.

I've seen some Chisora fights but I very rarely follow what most boxers say, so forgive the dumb question, but how likely is it Chisora was serious when he said he'd love to fight Zhang whether he wins or loses? I think that'd be a fun fight.

 

Maybe, but Moorer was far more skilled and quicker.

 

He`s nowhere near AJ`s level, he`s a poor man`s Parker.

 

Still the fight will be great to see. Its time for him to step up.

Yeah had sone expectations ror this guy but he looked very average and beatable.

Remember Zhang started with a 10-8 and walked Hrgovic down for the majority of the fight taking a hell of a lot on the gloves with his high guard and Hrgovic was eating shots at times.

We going to pretend that UD was legit with two judges giving Hrgovic 8 rounds to Zhangs 4.

Disgraceful result.

 

With a better gas tank, Zhang would have stopped Hrgovic yesterday, that's for sure.

He's a decent boxer, but his defence is none existent.

He'd get mailed vs any of the top 5-6 fighters.

 

I agree. I really had high hopes and he looks like the next golota.

 

I hyped Hrgovic so ill be honest and say i dont think he will be top man of this next generation

Negatives
His power isnt as high as i thought.
Hes predictable in his approach, and he doesnt use his jab at all its merely and flick until he drills the right hand in.
He doesnt clinch when hurt.
Zhang kept hitting him with the hook. and it bothered Hrgovic but he didnt alter his defence.
Getting hit bothered him more than it should.

Pros
He did show a decent chin, and good heart despite lacking focus.
Good workrate in places and accurate punching.
Fast Hands
Offensive Footwork is good.


He Underestimated Zhang who was very good at putting hurtftul punches together, stronger and has a great chin. Had Zhang been a few years younger hed of won.
Zhang looks like a dangerous but old fighter, he needs to come back quick! doubt he gets a rematch. Filip isnt stupid.
