One problem is that for years this guy has been fighting some of the worst opponents ever seen for a prospect, so it's hard to have faith in him. When you said he comes from the same region as you it gave me more confidence though. I really hope you're right and I think his good chin might well make it competitive. Joshua isn't young anymore either, so maybe that helps too. I'll definitely be supporting the Croatian if it happens, not because I hate AJ, though. AJ unfairly attacked for being a hyped ducker and POS fake sportsman and thug scumbag, when in reality he's a really cool guy and someone to have a beer with after work. I just would like to see some new blood in the division, Eddie Hearn distraught, and AJ KO'd cold after a sadistic beating.
Parker fight Zhang with totally different style. First most important thing is knowledge. When Filip fight Zhang nobody expect that this Chinese dude is soo dangerous. He fight with this man "open way" because he is agresive too. That's why he give much more opportunity to Zhilei than Parker who fight very carefull. And even fighting like that Parker was floored 2 times and one of this KD really heart him. For sure Parker was smarter and looks better but that's only show that he is inteligent and got same people around him. Joyce vs Zhang 2 fights its just perfect material for all this dudes. And one more. Hrgovic got advantages over Joshua. He got a lot better chin for sure. I dont think Joshua can survive shots like Filip taking from Zhang. This + as I said before his size (excacly same as Joshua), technical skills + warrior heart make him for sure trouble and difficult opponent. Lets not forget that there was many people who think Ngannou will KO Joshua... Here we got legit dude with real atributes. IMO Hrgovic (off course I can be wrong here) is hardest opponent for Joshua probably from Povetkin fight or maybe even Klitschko- dont count Usyk off course)
Joshua is an Olympic gold medallist, a two time heavyweight world champion and just knocked out the biggest threat that boxing has ever seen. Joshua has only tasted defeat in world title contests and has seemingly improved from every defeat. He’s what you’d consider to be tried and tested at the elite level. It’ll take a very special fighter to conquer a specimen such as that.
Joshua doesn't have a bad chin. He hasn't been KO'd once. Ruiz was a temple shot and it was lucky. Joshua has taken some massive shots and survived.
I'm not remotely impressed with Hrgovic tbh. He's shown himself Zhang level, and I'd back Joshua to KO both.
Right now Joshua would be my favourite, but Hrgovic seems to have the tools to be a real challenge and perhaps win. Only seen him against so few quality opponents, though, but Dubois will cast some clarity on just how good Hrgovic is.
Lets see how he does with Dubois, we havent seen Hrgovic against ortodox top level fighter yet, all we have is 2 southpaws on his resume. One is powerhouse, other is a wresler, so thus both being tricky fights for Hrgovic style. Dubois will tell us everything, if Hrgoiv KOs him in first 6 rounds, he defenetley beats Joshua. He has no rooms to make mistake, a single knockdown shows that Hrgovic aint on Joshua level, we cant forget Dubois got beat by Joyce and Usyk. He must show us a decisive dominative win, or face forgetfulness in heavyweight division (even with win), or even worse, retirement due to loss.
Helenius was doped to the teeth, still got sparked out Helenius is not De mori Hergovic' biggest challenge has been who?
And the ridiculous overhyping of Hrgovic continues. His only noteworthy win is Zhang - who can bang, but is 2-2-1 with fighters ranked top 200... That's a very thin resume - the two wins over Joyce are decent, but not necessarily indicative of a top top fighter considering Joyce is incredibly basic and that Zhang hasn't beaten anyone else good. Hrgovic might be really good... But I'm not giving credit until he proves it - and Joshua is levels upon levels more proven.
I reckon AJ beats Hrgovic, but even when Fury loses to Usyk AJ would likely still sit at 3-4 with Fury at 2. Of course if AJ goes on to beat Fury that's a different story.
