Smith is arguably the biggest hitter in the sport. And Bivol was completely out on his feet. The man was knocked out for 2-3 seconds. He was done. The bell rang. Smith would have finished him had the bell not rang.

Smith is a very big, strong LHW and one of the hardest punchers in a division that can boast some of the hardest punchers in the sport, Bivol is a small LHW who would've been giving away a significant amount of weight to Smith and along with Smith is one of the few fighters in that division not to have tasted the canvas.

Yes Bivol was hurt and had it landed earlier in the round he might not have survived but a lot of LHWs would've gone down from a shot like that and still been woozy come the start of the next round. Bivol regained his senses remarkably quickly and he also briefly hurt Smith himself with a left hook that made his legs dip and Smith has a very stout beard.

Smith has dropped or dropped and stopped all the world class LHWs he's fought with the exception of Bivol

I just now noticed you can see smith screaming at the ref saying hes out haha. Its interesting smith had a very hard time with sully B, while bivol destroyed him. But bivol did not destroy smith, he clearly beat him but I was expecting a late stoppage.

It helped that the bell had rang and the ref wasn't looking at him at all

That shot would have had Anthony Joshua doing the Carlton Fresh Prince of Bel Air dance.

Me and the family were at this card. At Turning Stone in Verona NY. Me and my son had our picture takin with Seanie Manahan after he was KOed by Callum Johnson. I was reluctant to go up and ask after such a tough loss. But go figure, the 2 guys sitting to my right were close friends of Seanie and they told me "go ahead, he welcomes fans especially youngsters". And sure enough Seanie couldnt have been more pleasant and right after a tough fight

How is it lucky? Smith Jnr. threw the punch on the Bell, not at the 2 minute mark and it only Landed a minute later. Bivol would have gotten right on his bike if there was time in the round and may have got hit again or may not. He may have took a knee and cleared his head sufficient enough to finish the round, he may have been hit by a micro meteorite or been abducted by Aliens and replaced by an alien/robot hybrid observer. He may even have caught a 'throw caution to the wind' Smith Jnr. with a counter and sparked him clean out. Luck had sweet fanny fukk all to do with it..... just saying.

Bivol would have been sent into Bolivian with even one more punch from Smith. He's lucky the bell rang when it did.
Otherwise, he dominated Smith the entire fight.

Quite lucky it was at the end. Kind of like Maidana vs Floyd 2 but Bivol looked more hurt.

Was a lovely shot. But Bivol still won comfortably. And it landed when it landed, not a minute before.
