What cost afolabi the first fight with huck was that he wasnt active enough!
It was close but he will need to do more in germany its natural!
Now he hasnt got the sparring mentality anymore and he will show his whole class! He has a great shot to become champion! But huck got even more confidence now knowing that he can hang in there with a very good fighter in povetkin!

Yeah, Pulev has really gone off the boil, he needs to really start performing. I'd go for Kubrat wide on points.

Thinking about it - I can't think any proper heavyweights in title contention at the minute who would be any less or more credible as an opponent.

I honestly can't believe nobody has exposed Huck yet... he is so technically flawed as a fighter, the Ola that we've all been witnessing of late should really have enough.

Huck has been improving I feel, if only slightly, he just seems to have gained some experience and it's showing, he looked good against Povetkin (I had him winning). He's still very flawed though.

I'd expect Ola to win this, but hopefully the odds will favour Huck so I can have a sneaky tenner.

    :good

Huck's had a slow and steady improvement fundamentally in the last few years, I think it's been shown gradually since the first Afolabi fight. That said, as you say he's still pretty crap technically though. And if Ola's gotten out of that proverbial ''sparring partner mentally'' the difference in skill should still be evident.

Hope he can pull it off, probably in my top 5 favourite British fighters(if he is British, I don't really know the story there), a prestigious achievement no doubt.

Ola seems to have turned it up since the Huck fight, but not against anyone of Huck's size or quality (relative of course, as Huck isn't all that ethnically of course) and IMO, he should be aiming to bang Huck out, just to be sure.

If Ola is on form, the opportunities for him to land his big shots should be there against Huck, and he rattled him a few times last time round (how long ago was that now?)

Good post by Bryn. I came into this thread about to say that I think Hucks been improving a little bit recently, but he's beat me to it. Huck looked very sharp against Povetkin, was unfortunate to lost out. I think actvity helped him a lot, he fought so much after the Cunningham loss, against decent opponents (by Cruiserweight standards of course :yep) so he could only feasibly get better. Looks a lot more active in the ring and he makes it hard for his opponent to land cleanly, frequently because he's always up in their grill. The style suits his attributes, proper Caveman.

Afolabi's got better too though. So much more composed and focused, which is what he was truly lacking. Afolabi of today vs the Huck he fought a few years ago would be straightforward for Ola. If that Afolabi had stepped it up he would have beaten Huck. Marco will be tougher this time around, even for an improved Ola but I think Afolabi is just the better, sharper and more able fighter and he'll be able to outbox Huck. I hope he's the betting underdog.
