Joe Joyce was blessed by the gods of war. He is a wolf killer, a warrior breed designed for combat. Limitless stamina, crushing power, granite chin, true grit, and an unbreakable will. Let the division cower against their true boogeyman.
Interesting strategy, sitting on the ropes spamming overhand rights Vs Joyce. Basically Parker was willing to get crushed by a truck moving at 1mph.
I was wrong too Joyce was superior I can't fault Parker . people doubt his heart but I do not know why. he's tough the thing Parker did wrong was come in heavy. I don't think it makes a difference to outcome but at 235 he'd have better speed and stamina Joyce is good. Hopefully he gets a big fight soon against a top boxer. At 37 he's old so I don't think he has many fights left but he's on a high now so will want to capitalise
coming in at 255 screwed parker tbh.. joyce is still way overated on this forum he will lose and sooner then later.
Well, better late than never. I always thought Joyce would only lose to Usyk and Fury at his very best, AJ has a chance to spark him out with some clean combos but I'd make Joyce the favourite.
I think so he takes too many punches. doesn't matter how strong your chin is. if you eat shots like that you're heading towards a big loss
Yeah I too have never been one to question his heart or desire. I think people mistake his inability to throw as a sign that there's no fight in the dog when it's simply he's never learned how to unload his shots without putting himself at risk at being countered, so unsurprisingly he's hesitant to throw at times. Guys like Joyce who can plow forward eating flush shots are not the norm and even Joyce shows restraint at times.
yeah Parker also looks like has short arms for his size but tries to be back foot boxer with taller opponents but he's almost too refined to be consistent infighter too he's tough enough but not naturally rough or skilled enough inside so falls short at both range when matched with equal or better opponents & it makes him hesitate a bit his style against everyone his size or bigger ought to be ' in and out' and lots of lateral & angles easier said than done of course
Yeah I agree with that. He also would find it much easier on the back foot if he learned to counter. When on the back foot he's no threat so guys can walk him down and as long as they are throwing they are safe so a volume puncher like Joyce was always a bad match up. They just need to watch out for when he sets and throws but as long as he's in a defensive position they are safe to keep throwing knowing nothing is coming back.
Parker was never a great heavyweight — just good. He won a very controversial decision against Ruiz and had never looked like he was about to break through. Joe Joyce proved to be better than good, had an endless tank, and excellent power.
