arrogant screaming before the fight: "EASY WORK, UD12" after the fight the biggest part of his fan-community very quiet with red faces: "uhh really hard to judge, it was such a close fight" the translation is basically: Ward lost but we are to weak to admit it. as i know to win a championship fight, you have literally to dethrone the current champ. close rounds are rounds in favor of the champion. importan is who did more damage. clinching, ellbowing, headbutting are in my opinion not boxing skills, these are fouls. so tell me please, how can ward win 3 belts by fighting the whole fight on his backfoot, throwing less punches than kov, landing less punches then kov and do less damage the kov? i dont know if the ward wans are aware of it but the more they defend his win the more they destroy his reputation.
this fight for me brought to light how 10 10 rounds should and should have been in use for more frequent and in far more fights like the Floyd maidana one fight for instance oops or the groves degale fight they all then could be very different outcomes
the outcome has to mirror what happened in the fight. close fight means that the champion keep his belt. the contender has to earn the title. the scoring reminded me on sauerland judging. never fair scorecards.
So you think discussing a fight is best served by hyperbole rather than with honesty? I think it was a close fight which could have been called for either boxer. But if it makes you feel any better, I'll put it this way: Ward won it easy, it was a one-sided beat down! There, I've replaced intelligent debate with the hubris of the schoolyard. So we talk on a level now. By the way, you know how fights are scored, right? Boxing on the back foot? Doesn't count against. Throwing fewer isn't always decisive. Ditto, landing fewer, when the stats were close - which they were. Ward won the fight. Get over it. You say Ward fans destroy their reputation post-fight, but the level of butthurt you display in the yours, weeks after the event, just makes the result all the more enjoyable. Keep it up!
The funny thing with those who say the challenger has to earn the title, is they are actually asking the judges to watch the fight from a biased perspective, to favour one fighter over another and not based on what they see in the ring. That's the very thing they accuse the judges of being when they gave the decision to Ward. lol
Kovalev has 3 belts for a reason. Hes just that good. How is it reasonable to state that someone has to basically outclass him. Hes the champ, logic states that he won´t be an easy foe.
seen it happen over the years many many times and pros have told me the same thing you have to beat a champion decisively
Still, it´s a handicap for the supposed champion. How does that make any sense? It´s just a stupid old saying.
This is stupid. You Ward dictators keep talking about corruption but the very thought of the challenger having to do more than just enough to win is corruption itself.
