As his opponent on Saturday, Edison 'Pantera' Miranda asked 'King' Arthur Abraham, the IBF MW champ on Thrusday, at the final press conference in Hollywood, FL: 'Are you crazy? How come you came to America to fight Pantera? You don't like yourself?' - and we should ask Abraham the same question... how's that even Kessler, a big and very talented SMW decided not to take the risk and avoid Miranda to fight for the WBA title vs. Sartison instead, while Abraham, a MW champ (called 'protected' by some clueless idiots), who really didn't have to, decided to travel to America to give a rematch to his toughest opponent to date in a weight-class favors the opponent that broke his jaw - and fight before the opponent's crowd, local judges and referee... Abraham... ARE YOU CRAZY??? This content is protected On the fans side, it's something we very rarely see... it's not Hatton traveling to the US to take a calculated risk vs. Collazo, or Jones considering a fight in Germany vs. a shot Markus Beyer... and it's not Calzaghe showcasing his talent for a full bag of hard cash - German promotion Team Sauerland and Team Abraham took a huge risk, and not for money (no millions here to 'compensate' for the risk), not for titles (it’s a non-title fight, AA returns to MW after that) but simply for making new fans in breaking into the US market, and doing so with a live, very legitimate and very risky fan-friendly fight... From a promotional standpoint, Miranda is right: it was a crazy move... Miranda had to travel to Germany as Sauerland won the purse bid and Arthur was the king. But there's no such logic in giving more and more chances of losing by agreeing on everything that favors Miranda, and Abraham might've asked too much: it's a fight Miranda can definitely win with his physical advantage, the support of his home crowd and of course with the US officials preferring aggressiveness and activity over clean effective punching... But with that move, Sauerland and Arthur showed that they are very serious in fighting for the sake of fighting and not fighting for a bag of money vs. tune-ups. Low risk low reward, high risk high reward. Unfortunately boxing is 99% about the low risk and short money, and that’s why HBO’s making new low standards of rating broadcast after broadcast. The first good fight on the horizon is always a PPV. No risk-taking anymore. As I've said, 24 hours from now Abraham might not be an undefeated fighter, and he asked for it... but for making such a fan-friendly move (and making Miranda's dream come true ), HUGE PROPS TO KING ARTHUR ABRAHAM AND TEAM SAUERLAND!
some idiots also don't realise that Kessler came back to Miranda with an even better offer to fight on HBO, but that Miranda had already moved on. So to insinuate that Kessler was somewhat scared of Miranda is stupid you don't need to discredit one fighter to give props to another
Of course! Kessler made the promotionally right move, end of story. And he's paying for it on these sites...
Tons of credit to AA for taking this fight. I think very highly of AA but i am a miranda fan. Just keep in mind AA doesnt have that much at risk because he keeps his title either way. So even if he looses he still has that barganing chip. But i still give AA tons of credit.
Abraham is a true warrior, the first fight was TOO brutal for him to even consider a rematch with the broken jaw injury, blood loss, surgery and having to focus/move during the fight. Yet he still accepted the rematch and went to America for it, true warrior and really hoping he gets the KO as he was supposed to soon.
Abraham is one of the bravest boxers today, and there ain't many of them.. Now wouldn't it really be something if Abraham won tonight, on Miranda's terms?
That was actually what I was wondering myself?? WHY?? Why would Abraham want to fight Miranda second time. He could have been like Lennox Lewis and said I already beat him why do it the second time. Truly he got some big balls Andrey
Abraham deserves a ton of credit for taking this rematch. He's leaving his comfort zone to come here and face a very dangerous man who already pushed him to the limit in a brutal fight. I think the moves pays off when he beats Miranda and sets up an even bigger showdown next year with Pavlik. Abraham is a true warrior.
Big props to Abraham from my part, and not only is Arthur taking on a dangerous opponent who is finally fighting at his comfortable weight, but since it's not a title fight Miranda can wear his Reyes Gloves and not the Everlast that he was forced to use in their first encounter which caused a lot of friction between the two camps. Win or lose, Abrahams warrior heart has earned him a fan in me... may the best fighter win ps: I am actually a Miranda fan
I give Both men props, not just Abraham that fight wasnt a walk in the park for Miranda either, and get this with a broken Jaw AA was able to limit the amount of damage from Miranda, if his Jaw holds up this time, I am sure AA will surprise everybody myself included. Look for Abraham to start fast tonight, its my opinion that if he is comming to win, he is going to have to jump on Miranda early and push him back so he can take advantage of that poor balance. if he allows Miranda to slow the pace down its over, he must bring it in order to win tonight, and I am sure he has every intent to do so.
boff..tant qua moi il a attendu que miranda trouve de quoi dautre.. kessler a pas peur de miranda..mais dison quon peut questionner son geste comme imbécile..il veut avoir une belt le plus vite
I hope your point isn't overlooked. Both men deserve credit for facing each other again. The first fight may have been more brutal on Abraham but like you said it was no walk in the park for Miranda either.
Big props indeed to both fighter, but lets not get confused here, just because we are highlighting some positives attributes of one fighter does not mean we are underrating the other. Miranda is a warrior, and losing again to Abraham witout the weight excuse been available really leaves him looking like a hype job that will always lose when facing the very best of his division. But we are just pointing out that in this fight specifically Abraham has really given most if not all of the advantages to Miranda, a very capable fighter whom he honestly doesnt really need to face at this stage of his career, even if his title isnt on the line... his reputation is.
Maybe but remember that if AA leaves himself open for a counter you will see him on ***** st. The reason AA is so hard to knock out is because he is so hard to catch clean. If he comes out of that shell to early without miranda tireing out it will be a short night and AA will get knocked out. If AA stays in his defence and pics his shots like he always does he has a chance and will def see the final bell. IMO of coarce.
